PDP a fountain head of conspiracy, deceit & lies : Rana

Budhal / Rajouri, June 29 (Scoop News) –  Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana said that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its leadership have always indulged in politics of conspiracies, deceit and has perpetuated lies on the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their petty political gains in a bid to somehow grab power. Whether it was the murder of democracy in 1984 where in overnight Dr. Farooq Abdullah was removed and Gul Shah was appointed as the Chief Minister of the state or the appointment of Jagmohan as Governor or the firing on the Mirwaiz procession and killing of innocent mourners all have shades of present PDP leadership. He said  the worst of the machinations of PDP  manifested in 2008, which in the history of the state and the country is the only of its kind where in Jammu and Kashmir was on the verge of split and its pains are even felt today and unfortunately though they (PDP) were rejected by the people of the state but they have still not learnt a lesson and are working over time to divide the society on region and religious lines with the sole objective of destabilizing the political frame work of the state to grab power by hook or crook without any consideration for the welfare of the state and its people, he said.

Rana who was addressing party workers meetings at Budhal and Rajouri on the second day of his week long tour to the twin border district of Rajouri and Poonch said that PDP is a fountain head of conspiracies and a firm believers of Gobbiel’s theory of coming out with lies and then repeating them again and again.

Rana warned that the polity of the state and the country as a whole has changed and is looking towards a clean, honest, accountable, transparent political setup which is not based on small political machinations but on a vision for the larger good of the people.

Political Advisor said it is unfortunate that while the PDP leadership today is crying hoarse about the power crises in the state during their three year tenure they did not initiated even a single power project which could have helped today to improve the power scenario in the state. In fact the 3900 crore which was received as power reform grant from 2002 2005 was swindled away for cheap political gimmicks rather than  initiating power reforms to strengthen transmission and distribution system in the state. Rana said had even Rs. 1000 crore out of Rs. 3900 crore had been spent on power reforms during 2002 to 2005 the power scenario today would have been much better. On the contrary, Rana said that between 1996 to 2002 Baglihar and Sawlakote were started and the present Omar Abdullah led coalition government has initiated various power projects which include 93 Mega Watts Ganderbal, 450 MW Baglihar Stage-II, 37.5 Mega Watts Parnai, 1856 MW Sawalakote, 240 MW Karthai, 250 MW Lower Parnai and 990 MW Karthai-II, 600 MW Kiru, 520 MW Kawar and 1000 MW Pakal Dul and 850 MW Rattle project has been taken up and other projects are under various stages of their execution.

Rana also lashed out the PDP for terming the Omar Abdullah led government as anti employees, he said the present dispensation has implemented the sixth pay commission in letter and spirit despite financial constraints and unlike neighboring states who have either not implemented it or have partially implemented it. He said the process of disbursing arrears as per the agreement with the employees has been initiated and the process of regularization of adhoc and contractual employees have been initiated. All those measures stand out clearly to show that the present state government is very employees friendly.

Among others who addressed the meetings at these places included Kr Rachpal Singh Vice Chairman Kissan Advisory Board, Ch. Talib Hussain ex-MP, Mohammad Aslam Khan ex-MLA, Ch Liaqat Ali Advocate, Bashir Ahmed Wani, Surinder Singh Bunty, Parvez Ahmed Advocate, Shafayat Khan, Ch. Shafi, Shafi Malik, Rakesh Singh Chib, Mudasir Zargar, Ab. Wahid Kasana, Abdul Qadir, Abdul Haimd Bhat, Fazal Chouhal, Iqbal Bhat , Haji Aslam, Abdul Rahim Bhat and others.

On the occasion a large number of workers from PDP joined National Conference and pledged to work for the party in their respective areas.
