PDP politically bankrupt, relying on wild allegations: Rather
BARAMULLA/Srinagar, October 30 (Scoop News) - Castigating opposition PDP for lack of political vision and maturity the minister for Finance & Ladakh affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today said the party is habitual of levelling wild allegations against its leadership. “They on one hand, level false allegations, but at the same time, without feeling ashamed, tender apology publicly which speaks volumes about their political bankruptcy”, Rather added.
Addressing a public gathering at Ruhama in district Baramulla after inaugurating a government treasury, about 20 kms from here, Rather said on many occasions some members of the PDP levelled false allegations of corruption against NC leaders but could not substantiate and had to apologise publicly for their misadventure. He said PDP is a power hungry party which unsuccessfully this to create confusion among the masses on petty issues. “But the people of the state are wise enough to differentiate and judge their real friends and foes”, Rather said adding that PDP should accept the reality that the people of the state have rejected this party for its double standards. He said in the history of state, Omar Abdullah is the first Chief Minister who despite being in power has un-ambiguously made it clear before the Indian leadership that Kashmir is a political issue which can be resolved by political means only.
Minister of State for R&B, Heath and Medical Education, Javed Ahmad Dar, Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Director General, Accounts and Treasuries, Wali Mohammad Bhat, SDM, Sopore besides officers of R&B and other departments were present on the occasion.
The Rohama treasury is eleventh in District Baramulla which will provide relief to the employees, aged pensioners and business community in clearing their bills.
Rather said N.C is a strong people’s movement which has offered sacrifices for empowerment of the common masses and strengthening the democratic values in the state since last six decades. Even during the darkest and worst phase of turmoil, NC cadres suffered immensely for the cause of peace adding that vital role and contribution of Dr. Farooq Abdullah in this regard could never be forgotten. After the days of militancy he launched a massive reconstruction process of damaged infrastructure in difficult times.
Rather said it was Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who started the process of de centralisation of power in 1976 which has no match in other parts of the country till now. This process has now been completed by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah by empowering panchayats. He said the coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah has taken many revolutionary steps to mitigate the sufferings of the people adding that Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA) has made officers accountable to solve the problems of people in fixed time frame failing which they shall have to face disciplinary action.
While speaking on the occasion Javed said people are best judges and able to differentiate between the present and past, adding the development works completed during past three years are an ample example for them. “My mission is to serve the people” said the Minister, adding that the plans formulated for the development of rural and kandi areas would definitely turn my dream into reality.
Dar said without caring of his life, he visited certain vulnerable areas merely to reach out people and assess and address their problems, “We do not believe on partisan politics” he said, adding to ensure development of all people and areas irrespective of their political affiliation is the part of our policy.
The Minister said National Conference has its own secular identity and represents in every three regions of the State. He said the manifesto of the party is to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of the State.
