Protest demonstrations against Taliban in Jammu,Call for Bandh,Mehbooba condemns killing of Sikhs



Jammu, February 22 (Scoop News) –Strong protest demonstrations was organized by a Sikh organisiations against Taliban who brutely killed two  innocent Sikh youths  in Pakistan on Sunday.


 Sikh youths burnt the effigy of Taliban militants in Jammu .Leaders of these Organization demanding that the centre should raise the issue with Pakistan.They also appealed to International Community to take up the matter with the Government of Pakistan as it is human right violation with the  minority  community who are living in Pakistan.Sikh leaders said  that the Zazia which they are demanding from the  Sikh Community in Pakistan is against  the rules of the  law  and  it clearly indicates that the  Government of Pakistan has failed  at all  level  to control the Taliban. .


Several organisations, including J&K Sikh United Front ,Jammu Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu and Kashmir Transporters Association besides several social and religious organisations have also given call for a Jammu Bandh on Tuesday in protest against the beheading of two Sikh youths by Taliban in Pakistan. Jammu and Kashmir Sikh United Front Convenor Sudershan Singh Wazir told reporters here today.He said, "We condemn the attack on Sikhs in Pakistan. The beheading incidents are brutal. Sikhs are unsafe in the area and Pakistan government has failed to provide them security."J&K Sikh United Front also demand release of the other kidnapped Sikhs."


 


It may be mentiones that Jaspal Singh and his two companions were abducted by Taliban militants recently. His beheaded body was found in Pakistan’s Peshawar city on Sunday. His two companions, Gorwandar Singh and Surjeet Singh, are still being held captive by the militants for ransom, according to reports in Pakistan media.



Meanwhile President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti today condemned the killing of two Sikhs in North-West province of Pakistan.


In a statement issued here Mehbooba Mufti, while condemning the killing termed this incident as “barbaric acts” and “inhuman”.  


"PDP strongly condemned this inhuman act," she stated in statement and said that all right thinking people should condemned killing of two Sikh youth, who were kidnapped a month ago for ransom.


While condemning the killing, PDP chief expressed sympathy with the families of killed youth and asked the authorities of Paksitan to take some preventive steps to avoid reoccurrence of such incident in future.
