Rising Narcotic Smuggling
Evidently, disturbed areas and states have witnessed
increase in narcotic smuggling to make free flow of economy and arms across the
world. Jammu and Kashmir being militancy infected area posses’ ample examples
for the similar activities. But to eradicate social evils from society, police has
started a mission to make an end to such activities by making no compromise in
nabbing the culprits. To which police seized over one kilogram of Charas from possession
of a youth involved to make a deal at Patnitop under jurisdiction of Police
Station Kud, district Udhampur.
Accused was identified as Anirudh @Raju s/o Krishan Lal r/o Subash
Nagar. As per reports Police party conducted checking at Kasal Morh
Patnitop and observed suspicious movement of a person. Police party chased him and
apprehended. During search 1.200 kgs of Charas was recovered from his
possession. Accused was arrested and a case under Narcotics Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA) case has been registered against him at Police
Station Kud.
Similarly, Ramban Police achieved a major success by
apprehending a narcotic courier at Chanderkote and recovered 400 grams heroine
from his possession. Accused was identified as Mohd Sharief s/o Churju Bhat r/o
Rajbagh. Reportedly Police apprehended him before delivery of a consignment of
heroine. Accused was arrested under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
Act (NDPSA) and a case has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote .
Meanwhile, Police seized twenty three Kilogram Bhuki (Poppy Straw) a few days ago and arrested one narcotic smuggler carrying the narcotic substance concealed in two bags by foot at 17 Miles Vijaypur under the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur of district Samba. Accused was identified as Mohd Mussa alias Mushtaq s/o Abdul Gani r/o Pahalgam prersently residing at Rangarl Vijaypur. Reports said that Police on a tip off laid a special naka at 17 Miles Vijaypur and intercepted one person carrying two bags by foot and during search of bags 23 kilogram of Bhuki (Poppy Straw) was recovered. Accused was booked under 8/15 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA). Case to this stands registered at PS Vijaypur.
