Russian Jet Crashes- more then 80 people killed

More then 80 people died including six crew members in the accident of a Russian passenger jet (Boeing-737). The plan , crashed near the Ural mountains in the western Perm city. The incident happened at hours 4:30 am of IST of Sunday, September 14, 2008. The accident occurred as one of the plane’s engines caught fire during landing in the Perm airport.

There were 7 children and 25 foreigners among the victims. General Gennady Troshev, a former commander of Russia’s war against the Chechen militants, also died in this plane-crash.

it tried to make an emergency landing before the crash.But it crashed on the 100-metre section of track used by the Trans-Siberian railway and destroyed the same. The debris of the passenger jet scattered over an area of more than four square kms.
