Sakina directs CDPOs to work with dedication
Srinagar, October 24 (Scoop News)- Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Itoo directed the Child Development Project Officer’s (CDPO’s) of Social Welfare Department to work with dedication and use funds judiciously so that the benefits of welfare schemes percolates down to the deserving people living in urban and rural areas of the state.
The Minister was addressing a meeting of officers of ICDS here today convened to discuss various issues like distribution of nutrition, rationalization of quality and quantity of nutrition items and utilization of funds.

The Minister said that the government is very much committed for the welfare of children as they are the future of our society. She said standard nutrition to children will yield better results which is necessary for a healthy society.
She said that our children have best skills and talent and at many times they have prove their mettle in academic as well as curricular activities. She said to provide the quality nutrition to every children of the centre is the prime responsibility of Anganwari workers besides maintaining the records of the consumption of nutrition items on daily basis strictly as per physical attendance of register beneficiaries.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to conduct surprise visits to the Anganwari Centres established in far-flung areas and check on the spot the quantity and quality standard of the nutrition facilities being provided by the government.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioners and other concerned officers assured the Minister for strict adherence the guidelines and directions issued by the Minister.
The meeting was informed that during the current financial year in all the districts of the division the tenders have been floated by the district level purchase committee for procurement of nutrition items.
