Saroori’s Dismissal- Governor accepts CM’s recommendation of dismissal of Congress Minister

Srinagar August 26 (Scoop News) – Jammu & Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra has accepted the recommendation of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to dismiss Ghulam Mohammad Saroori from his council of ministers.

The charge of the Public Works Department will be with the Chief Minister.

Earlier the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recommended to the Governor N.N. Vohra the dismissal of Ghulam Mohammad Saroori Minister for R&B and Mechanical Engineering from his Council of Ministers.

According to offical spokesman the Governor N.N. Vohra is in Leh and so the communication has been sent to him there.

It may be mentioned here that PWD Minister G M Saroori on Monday asked to tender his resignation to chief minister Omar Abdullah in the wake of the controversy over alleged impersonation of his daughter during an entrance exam. This was disclosed by Congress General Secretary Prithviraj Chavan in New Delhion wedenesday.

The development comes on the heels of alleged impersonation of his daughter in the entrance test of Acharaya Shri Chander College of Medical Science. It was alleged that two youth, including a girl, were appearing in the examination for the kin of two politicians -- Saroori and former minister Ram Pal of the National Conference, Congress' coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir.
