Serve people with dedication: DGP to POs



            Jammu, February 06 (Scoop News) –    The Director General of Police (DGP),  Kuldeep Khoda has called upon the Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police to serve the people with devotion and commitment and earn a good name for themselves and the police organization at large.


 


Interacting with the newly inducted 100 Deputy Superintendents of Police at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur (SKPA) today, the DGP said that other measures like modernization in respect of equipment and gadgets as also other aspects of investigations are being focussed. Besides, our priority has been to sharpen the training skills making JKP a model police force in the country.


 


Stressing the crucial importance of training in enhancing professionalism,  Kuldeep Khoda said that an ambitious plan has been chalked out for conducting various advanced training courses for jawans and officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police. He said that our motive has remained to be people friendly while enforcing law and order and it has been ensured that common people, are not harassed at any level. The force while dealing tough situations in the field never lost their patience despite hostile actions by the bad elements. Officers and jawans of the organization have show their high standards of discipline and proficiency while performing their duty in harsh conditions.


 


 


Congratulating the probationary officers on choosing police service as their career, the DGP said that during their basic training course, they would be put to training in different arenas of policing like investigation skills, crime control, weaponry, combating anti-national elements, public management, mountaineering, fire fighting, horse riding, map reading and other professional skills. He said that the people in distress have much expectations with the police and the probationary officers have to make this as their motive to strengthen the image of police among the masses.


 


 He said that local police has the primary role in tackling difficult and challenging situations and the up-gradation of all police training institutions in the state is in offing and the training syllabus as per the latest requirements has also been implemented for various courses, he said.


 


 


             Khoda said that the force has to increase its proficiency at various fronts of policing to enhance the capabilities of the Organization. He also said that JKP has acquired acclaim at national level for its prime role in restoring peace in the State in both anti-militancy and maintenance of law and order fronts.


 


 


            Earlier, the Director, SKPA Udhampur,  A.K Gupta gave a brief resume of training activities of the Police Academy. He said that the Academy is running various training courses for state police officers and IPS officers.
