Some elements trying to fan communal tension in Leh : Samphel

Leh (Ladakh), March 25 (Scoop News) - Tsering Samphel,President District Congress Committee, Leh and Former MLA today alleged that some local vested interest elements to defame particularly the very person of the Minister for Tourism & Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora whose dynamic popularity, integrity and honesty has given sleepless nights to his rivals.

Tsering Samphel in a statement said that the wide media coverage of a street scuffle with a shopkeeper in Leh by the sons of some leading Ladakhi leaders is a vicious conspiracy of some local vested interest elements to defame. Nawang Rigzin Jora.

He said that some anti-social elements tried to fan communal tension on the occurrence with an ulterior motives but the reaction of the enlightened local citizens has been very cool towards it.

Statement said that the very shop where the incident took place belongs to a strong Congress supporter. The local police have been prompt enough to arrest the erring youth including the son of the Minister. The occurrence was an unfortunate one. FIR stands lodged and the youth are still under police custody.

In a statement District Congress Committee, Leh appealed to the people not to be carried away by romours and vicious propagandas against Nawang Rigzin Jora by vested interests.

Statement also refuted that there was any public protest in reaction to the said occurrence and the law has taken its own course.
