Sri Lankan Govt.To Amend Motor Traffic Act



The Cabinet has decided to amend Motor Traffic Act to enable imposing  of spot fines on those who are violating Vehicle Seat Belt Law Cabinet Spokesman ,Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa has said today (02) during the Cabinet Press Briefing.

President Mahinda Rajapaksha too has instructed the Inspector General Of Police (IGP) earlier to amend the regulation so the motorists who are violating seat belt law can pay their fines through receipts instead of appearing directly before court.Through this Government aims to amend punishment for motorists who are violating the seat belt  law by only fining them without producing them before court.Law
