Two hurt in aircraft crash

Two people were injured when a light aircraft crashed into a field in Co Down this afternoon.

The crash occurred before 3pm on the Corcreaghan Road in Kilkeel.

The crash occurred near an old military airbase with a small runway which is often used by light aircraft in the area. Ambulance staff and police treated the two people on board.

They were transferred to Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry where their injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
