Two outlawed Pakistani groups remerge in Kashmir with new name
Muzaffarabad, Jammu and Kashmir, September 27,2010:
Two Pakistani terrorist groups have started their activities in Pakistani controlled part of Kashmir with a new name, eye witnesses say.
The newly established group appeared in the local press with an Urdu name “Tahreek e Azadi Kashmir (TAK)” which, in English means: “Kashmir Freedom Movement”.
In Mirpur city on Monday hundreds of people vowed to fight holy war in Indian Administrated Kashmir in a rally organized by a newly formed organization -the TAK. The organizers of the TAK announced to arrange similar rally in Pakistani Capital City Islamabad on Wednesday (September 29), which would also be addressed by former ISI chief, Hameed Gul.
Local political circles have declared the appearance of newly established outfit as ‘a joint venture of outlawed groups Jamaat ud Dawa and Jaish e Muhammad.’
“We are concerned over recent activities of outlawed Jammat ud Dawa(JuD) and Jaish e Muhammad(JeM) with new name-TAK”, said Dr. Taqeer Gillani, spokesperson of moderate Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), which believes on peaceful resistance against India after abandoning armed struggle in Indian Kashmir .
“The government should ban the activities of this new group as it is a conspiracy against the ongoing movement of Kashmir.”
More than 100 citizens, mainly youngsters have been killed by Indian authorities during recent protests against India in Muslim majority Kashmir State, divided into Pakistani and Indian controlled regions.
