Uncommon venue for Commonwealth

New Delhi, the capital of India, with a population of 14 million, will be the host of Commonwealth Games 2010. This is the first time when India would host the Commonwealth Games and the second time it will take place in Asia. Politicians and Ministers have made hundreds of promises and commitments , a few has been fulfilled too and many left uncomplete or under way so to say.

Law and order in the city is better than before and the city seems to be more organized, no second thought on that. However transportation has remained a maniac, the Buses stop far away from there stops and Bus conductors charge as much money as they want. They are overcrowded and it is a nightmare to take a ride in a Delhi Blue Line Bus. Taxis are not that common and inexpensive as it is in Mumbai (Biggest City and commercial capital of India). Auto Rickshaws are less in number and no auto rickshaw driver wanrs to run his meter. The funniest part is all of them more or less have same sort of excuse " The meter is not working sir". These guys charge double the amount of fare and unfortunately if you are in a Rickshaw after 12 in the night be prepared to pay the extra night charges according to the drivers will.

If  the transportation scene remains to be the same, Commonwealth association should give a second thought and try to replace the venue with a better and safer place.
