World Nursing Day Today

Today nurses all over the world are celebrating 'world nurses day.' The day was first observed in Germany in 1846.

Originally linked with the birth date of Florence Nightingale who was born on 12th May 1820 in Florence, Italy. She made huge contribution to profession of nursing 

The nurses celebrate the day with activities highlighting nurses role in the health care industry.

It is estimated that there are over 18 million nurses all over the world.

A few countries in the world take the lead in providing nursing manpower to other countries in tackling with nursing care needs. Philippines  is one such country with nursing as the most sought profession.
