homemade bomb exploded in the Cartuja Stadium

A bomb, apparently homemade, exploded late Wednesday near the Olympic Stadium of La Cartuja in Seville , without having caused material injury although, according to municipal sources told EFE.

The explosion occurred about 22.30 hours, the sources said, the device was in a planter on the island of La Cartuja , located at the height of the door K's Olympic Stadium, which recently celebrated the end of the Davis Cup. The area where the explosion occurred is a place without homes and not usually frequented by persons when no sporting events.

The National Police cordoned off the area, specifically the side of the stadium near the Parque del Alamillo and where was displayed a strong police presence , consisting of between six and eight patrol cars of the National Police, accompanied by a dog from the Canine Unit and several local police units, reports Europa Press. In addition, after midnight they reached the place of the Scientific Police officers to collect samples on the ground at the site of the explosion.
