A young child knelt to pray, there was a lot she wanted to say,
feeling unloved in countless ways…at the end of a tiring day.
She’d heard Bible stories about all of God’s gifts and love;
needed and wanted Him to send peace like a turtle dove.
There were hardship and strife in her daily walks in life;
she longed to be rid of all the struggle, pain, and strife.
Tears rolled down pale cheeks every time she would speak;
there weren’t any sounds other than an occasional weep.
She’d feel God’s spirit as it stirred within her soul and heart,
knew as she’d hear His word it would bring a spark.
She looked up at Jesus` picture hung on the wall above;
there He looked at her offering peace and true love.
She stayed down on bent knees for a long spell,
telling Jesus she loved Him but felt she’d failed.
A hand brushed tears from her cheeks and eyes,
asking Jesus to take away her fears and reprise.
A young child knelt to pray, there was a lot she wanted to say,
feeling unloved in countless ways…at the end of a tiring day.
Peace was felt all around as the child raised up to sit down,
a load was lifted from a tiny heart wiping away all her frowns.
A twinkle glowed in her big blue eyes showing off her surprise,
"no" more days of feeling unloved as she’d watch the sunrise.
A young child knelt to pray, there was a lot she had to say,
God wiped the tears from her eyes to lead her in a new way.
