Tweeting Gaddafi's Address to the United Nations

Global Voices Region: Libyan Arab Jamahiriya

In his first address to the United Nations General Assembly, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi more than made up for lost time. Speaking at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the self-proclaimed King of Kings, who has ruled Libya for almost 40 years, spoke for around 100 minutes. Topics he covered ranged from criticising ... more

Global Voices Region: Libyan Arab Jamahiriya

Posted by Fozia Mohamed to Global Voices Online The sprawling summer days in Libya have kicked in fast bringing with them the beach season, which for me carries wafts of childhood holiday memories and, funnily enough, watermelons. As expected there were a few summer related posts on the Libyan blogosphere. After all with approximately 2000 km of coastline it would have been strange if despite the relative continui... more
