For Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama’s acceptance speech, he chose not the convention hall but the Invesco football stadium. His speech was given before a backdrop resembling an ancient Greek temple with columns. For some McCain supporters, this is evidently a big deal to be held against him. I don’t support either of the Demopublican statist candidate, I support Bob Barr, www.bobbarr2008.com, the Libertarian Party’s www.lp.org candidate.
You would think the classical world’s imagery was some new thing. You would be wrong. Why do you suppose the White House and the US Capitol are neo-classical? State houses, county seats and city halls similarly imitate ancient Greek and Roman models.
This is the silliest criticism possible. What were Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush doing but adapting movie and television techniques to their presentations?
Obama is as I have written on Ground Report previously "The Same Old New Thing." https://www.groundreport.com/Politics/Obama-The-Same-Old-New-Thing
This is much-ado about nothing. What is really important is that both Obama and McCain are rampaging statists who offer more of the same.
