By now, the majority of people are familiar with an abundance of benefits of working out. Even though some of them pick up the habit and get decent results, it takes a bit more dedication and knowledge to know exactly what you are doing.

For example, many people start going to the gym and working on various group muscles without knowing what the core muscle groups they should work on are. The reason for this hides behind the fact that people are more focused on how they are going to look and what results they are going to get in the short-term.

If you are planning to start a routine, or you are already working out, it is crucial to understand that you primary focus should be on developing bigger muscles and strength, the aesthetic part will follow. Let’s take a look at the most important muscle groups you should focus your workout plan on.

Chest and core muscles

Guy’s love working on their chest muscles, but often forget that this muscle group consists of three different building blocks. The most important group, the upper chest or clavicular pectoralis, are often neglected. It is that this chest muscle head is responsible for stability, power and better overall chest growth. Therefore, do your research about effective chest growth strategies that will make you work more on this particular muscle.

When people think about the core, they think about a great looking 6 pack. Well, not everything is in the looks, the core muscles include much more than the 6 pack everyone wants to get. The abs and the muscles of the lower back work passively in wide array of exercises, making it essential to work on them.

Complete back muscles

While everyone is in love with the front body exercises, not many people actually love working on their back. Even those who love working on their backs are more focused on building up their upper back. Not working on the whole back can lead to serious injuries when you start working with serious weights.

Keeping the chest and back in balance will keep your shoulder joint safe and mobile, so you should be working with similar weights with both muscle groups, but you should also work on your lower back. As back exercises are a bit harder, many people find it challenging and do not offer their maximum when working on these muscle groups.

Additionally, working on lower back involves exercises that many consider risky, such as the deadlift. It is very important to stress that this exercise is only risky if done with poor form and with weights that one cannot handle safely. If you always pay attention to your form and leave your ego at the door, the chances of getting a back injury are quite slim, yet the benefits that this exercise brings are many – it actively improves core, lower back, and hamstring strength, and works a variety of smaller muscles to an extent.

By avoiding it, many workout enthusiasts put themselves at a high risk getting being injured and they limit the amount of overall muscle mass they could be putting in their frame.

Leg muscles

Never skipping a leg day has become a well known piece of advice that many people advocate, but for a good reason. An incredibly high percentage of people who work out actively skip leg days. OK, the thing is that besides the aesthetic disbalance, neglecting leg muscles can lead to some serious injuries.

Therefore, on top of having to wear jeans in the summer, you are putting your whole body at risk. It is also important to mention that the gluteus maximus is the largest muscle found in the human body. Working on it regularly will get you much better results in the gym and sports in general, and having a big strong butt and thighs will help you do more work and burn through more calories workout and after the workout.

Training legs is hard, but on the plus side, leg strength is important for several other exercises, and will help you perform better in a variety of sports and in daily life in general.

If you are working out regularly, remember that you have started the whole journey to become healthier. In order to stay on that path, dedicate the right amount of time to all of your muscle groups, it will keep you safe in the gym and in the field.

Additionally, it will help you continuously improve your lifts, as all of the exercises are connected with each other. The next time you are in the gym, stop worrying about whether your biceps are big enough, and start working on your strength; it is a much healthier approach that will get you insane results and keep your body healthy.

Illustrious Challengers Bangalore home diversions 2017 tickets are accessible here

Any reasonable person would agree that despite the fact that they played as a group, there are sure players who merit an uncommon consideration. Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers together overwhelmed the batting field in the second 50% of the association, as they proceeded onward to set some astounding batting records. More so than this, the group depended on each other and were fit for venturing up and play mindfully when circumstance requested it. At a certain point in the class, they ended up at a circumstance where they needed to win each and every match starting there on to achieve the last. Attributable to Kohli’s splendid captaincy and an awesome exertion by the rest, they figured out how to do the unimaginable.

Virat Kohli not exclusively did his occupation as a skipper perfectly, additionally turned out to be a standout amongst the most reliable batsmen in the T20 organize. In the 16 innings he played in over the span of the competition, he scored a humongous 973 runs! With a strike rate of 152.03 and a high score of 113 runs, his nearness was made significantly all the more engaging by AB de Villiers. Virat Kohli could however miss the underlying phases of IPL 10 because of harm. KL Rahul will likewise join the sidelines with Kohli as he misses IPL 10 because of a shoulder damage.

The Protean scored 687 keeps running amid his battle, while complimenting Kohli by making the absolute most noteworthy associations with him. With 57 fours and 37 sixes, he was bested just his Indian enemy, who drove the count with 83 fours and 38 sixes. Aside from them, Blackmart KL Rahul too merits a say, as he scored 397 keeps running in 12 innings.

Considering their playing, they did not have the enormous names from the earliest starting point of the season. Be that as it may, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shane Watson ventured up to the check by taking 21 and 20 wickets separately. Next in the line was Sreenath Arvind, who took 11 wickets. In any case, In the last match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shane Watson and Chris Jordan turned out to be exceptionally costly. With all due respect nonetheless, having lost Australian paceman Mitchell Starc and Adamn Milne right on time to the damage, it was hard for the others to fill the void. Mitchell Starc won’t play for RCB any longer as he needs to concentrate on worldwide duties.

One astonishment which many fans got was Chris Gayle, who didn’t sparkle that much with the bat when contrasted with earlier years. Be that as it may, his nonappearance wasn’t felt, attributable to Kohli and de Villiers. This season, they came up short by only 8 keeps running in the last. Ideally, one year from now, they will break the curse and take care of business to win the trophy. Regarding procurement, RCB have restricted in Tymal Mills from England. He is a left-arm bowler who is generally observed flinging balls in abundance of 145+ kph.

To total it up then, a question for every one of you. What do you get when you have a tropical storm, a well of lava and a seismic tremor all wrapped up in one bundle? All things considered, you get group RCB which is equipped for tearing separated any playing assault and tormenting any batting unit. Fingers crossed to see this occurrence in the current year’s IPL. If you have a bike, you would face many kinds of problems. Bicycle brakes become less effective over time.  You can adjust and tighten your bike brakes easily by following some steps. One of the most common brake problems is a dragging brake pad. One common cause of this problem is a misaligned wheel. This causes the brake to work improperly because it’s tight on the frame and has been adjusted to align properly only on a wheel perfectly centered in the bicycle.

Now that the wheel is crooked in the frame, the brake can’t work correctly. If you have a frame that lets you place the rear wheel in different positions, check that the wheel is centered between the seatstays and chainstays before tightening it.

Check your brakes

bike brakesAt first stand next to your bike.  Squeeze the front brake lever and try to push the bike forward. Now repeat this test with the rear brake. The rear wheel should lock and skid as you push the bike forward. If the brakes do not work properly, then you have to repair it.

Check the cables

All cable-operated brakes should have a barrel adjuster. All hybrid bikes have a knurled edge where the cable exits the lever or enters the caliper. Turn the barrel adjuster anti-clockwise to increase cable tension. Check the cables before tightening bike brakes.

Make sure the caliper moving

Squeeze the handle and watch the caliper close and open. If the cable at the brake handle moves, but the end at the caliper does not, the cable may be broken inside the cable housing, and the whole cable assembly will have to be replaced.

Lubricate the cables

You can use lubricants in an aerosol can with a tube to spray oil into the cable housing. Use synthetic lubricants not mineral oil or grease.  You may find it in any bike shop. You can lube the cables with triflow with Teflon. You have to work very slowly. You put one drop after the other of very fluid oil on the cable were it comes out of the housing. Through capillarity the oil gets sucked up into the housing. Meaning you’ll do this from both ends of the housing.

Tighten the brakes easily

It’s perfect for making your brakes feel like new after you’ve logged a good many miles and worn down your pads. Turn on the adjuster barrels counterclockwise by hand. Then check the settings by squeezing the levers. When you feel that the brakes are right, lock the barrel adjusters in position. You can do it by turning the lockring clockwise until it’s tight against the lever.

In the case of on road bikes, you will find the adjusters on the brakes. . To tighten the brakes, turn the adjusters in the direction that moves the pads closer to the rims.

You should remember that when your brake pads wear out, the adjusters won’t do any good and you’ll need to turn the adjusters all the way back and replace your brake pads.

You can tighten your best hybrid bikes brake anywhere and anytime by following the instructions. Always check your brakes before your riding. It can help you from a accident.

When it comes to beloved sports, few spark the deep feelings of nostalgia associated with baseball. While the majority of North Americans love the sport, there is one common complaint when it comes to professional baseball, the length of the games.

Unlike almost every other televised sport, baseball is not ruled by a clock or periods or even quarters. Instead, baseball games are governed by innings that are unrestricted time-wise, which means games can stretch on for a long time. In fact, last year an average regular season baseball game clocked in at roughly three hours.

In 1984, when the Chicago White Sox played the Milwaukee Brewers, the game stretched on for a jaw dropping eight and a half hours, making it the longest game in Major League Baseball history and arguably the longest sporting game ever played.

When it comes to championship and World Series games, they are even longer, averaging more than three and half hours.

While the issue of game length does come up every couple of years, there is increased pressure this year to do something to make games more exciting, shorter and more inviting to younger audiences. That is because when it comes to demographics, baseball has the oldest viewers of the top major sports, with 50 percent being 55 or older.

According to Nielsen ratings, the average age of baseball viewers is 53, compared with 47 for the NFL and 37 for the NBA. This disparity isn’t only in viewership either, fewer young people are also playing baseball. The number of youth between the ages of 7 -17 playing baseball in the U.S. decreased by 41 percent between 2002-2013, from 9 million to 5.3 million.

In an effort to speed up games for viewers at home and those in attendance, MLB has proposed a change to the intentional walk rule, a change that would allow a manager to simply signal for a free walk from the dugout, rather than requiring the pitcher to literally throw four wide ones.

The proposal, which would need the approval of the players union before it came into force, is getting mixed reviews. While the Baseball Commissioner is in favor of a change, the director of the players association is not.

“It’s going to be very difficult to try and implement something like that,” said Tony Clark, executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association. “That’s not a spur-of-the-moment consideration. I think everyone here can appreciate that adjusting the strike zone is something that can majorly affect the game, negatively or positively. Doing so after guys come in (for spring training), to simply adjust that is a tough sell.”

MLB Scouting Bureau certified scout, Tim Kendall, says any changes to MLB rules would have repercussions for both players and recruiting staff.

Changing certain aspects of the game would certainly impact how players need to approach the game to be successful and also how scouts examine prospects,” Tim Kendall explained. “There is a lot of strategy and practice that goes into perfecting one’s game and it should not be understated how much a small adjustment to the rules could affect a player’s performance or success.”

In recent years, there has also been a concerted effort to integrate technology into the game, particularly in the area of streaming.

We spent millions of dollars to develop streaming products because we believe that incorporating this technology with the game helps us attract a younger audience,” said Rob Manfred, Major League Baseball Commissioner.

Even though a change to game length would be welcomed by many fans and even coaches, there are die hard baseball fans that want the game they love to stay exactly the same.

In an Op-ed for the San Diego Tribune sports reporter Nick Canepa wrote, “It is a sport to be savored, not gulped. Slow is part of its charm.”

For former player and current Red Sox manager John Farrell, the reality is the game is changing. He references the video replay and the rules governing collisions at home plate as some of the progressive changes that have happened recently.

“I think we’ve done a good job of not trying to change too many things at once,” Farrell said. “As we try to create new markets, increase our fan base, I think you’ll see all these discussions we’re talking about as a way to keep the game active and more attractive to the video age and making it as interactive as possible, but yet keeping the pace of the game inside the ballpark one that keeps the attention of everyone in the stands.”

There is currently no word on whether there will be any changes ahead of the 2017 season.

Do you run track in your school? You should eat like a professional athlete to keep your body in top shape. Your lean body will show others that you are in great shape.

Here are some tips for eating like a professional athlete:

Do not skip breakfast

You must have heard this before but it needs to be repeated. Breakfast is the meal that prepares you for the whole day. If you skip breakfast, you will eat more meals during the day to compensate for the meal you missed. You can avoid this by eating a light breakfast with fruit, protein, and whole grain.

If you do have the time to sit down for a full meal, you can start by drinking orange juice to get your body used to breakfast. After that, you can add hard boiled eggs and toast to your morning meal. By adding more nutrients to your morning routine, you will be stabilizing your blood sugar and beginning your day properly.

Stay hydrated

When you are dehydrated, it is quite easy to overeat. If you are training all through the week, you should not just hydrate during your workouts. Drinking water throughout the day will keep you hydrated, making it easy to replace what you lost during your workout.

Staying hydrated all through the day without switching to sugary drinks during your workouts will be beneficial. Although sugary drinks can help you to replace electrolytes, they are full of sugar – which is bad for you. If you still want a sugary drink, you should consider diluting a Gatorade with half water – this will keep you hydrated while replacing your electrolytes.

Eat like a champ

If you want to be the best at what you do, you must fuel your body with the best foods. Beer, fast foods, and fried foods are bad for your body and you need to steer clear. Load your body up with fruits and veggies. If you have the tendency to eat fast foods for lunch, you should consider making a snack-sized fruit or veggie bag.

Greek yoghurt is a drink that is high in probiotics and good for your digestive tract.

Iron-rich foods

Women are usually iron-deficient. Eating dark leafy greens can help you to replace the lost iron. If you still have iron deficiency, you should consider taking iron supplements to increase your levels. The foods that you should be adding to your diet include dark leafy greens, oatmeal, and red meat.

Make a plan

Make a food plan for the day: what will you eat during the day? Making a plan will help you to avoid eating bad foods on the go. If possible, you should also make your meals of the week on Sunday. This way, your meals will be ready and you will be able to spend your time on more important things. If you cannot do this, you should at least prepare a snack to keep you from eating unhealthy meals whenever you are hungry.

Do not restrict yourself

If you think that you need to reduce the amount of calories that you consume to lose weight, think again. Limiting your calorie intake can be counterproductive: your body will struggle to hold onto the few calories that it has and go into starvation mode. This will mean more energy in and less out, and your working out will be in vain.

Are you looking for team warm up jackets for your track team? You need to wear the right clothes if you want your team to feel united. You can buy them online or from physical stores near you.

There are things so basic in life that it would seem that there is no way to advance or improve upon the concept. For example, the wheel has essentially stayed the same since it was created. Minor improvements have been made but the original idea remains. Running is similar; place one foot in front of the other and repeat at a quick pace. Running enthusiasts laugh at this statement. Footwear advancements alone in the past three decades have been monumental. Still, the essence of running is about commitment and challenging one’s self to improve. A desire to challenge, inspire, and aid runners with this was the impetus for Nike to work with Birdman (a Japanese interactive design agency). Birdman (working with BBH Asia Pacific) conceived and constructed the Nike Unlimited Stadium as a creative and interactive experience for runners to challenge themselves. Located in Manilla, the Unlimited Stadium is symbolically in the shape of an infinity sign as a reminder of the endless possibilities each of us are capable of achieving. The massively popular display/interactive track is 100 meters long and is exceptionally creative, functional, and stimulating. These were the exact characteristics Nike wanted to spur on runners. Birdman is one of the most creative and attention receiving design agencies in the world, due in large part to the unique minds it attracts. By hiring creative professionals with nontraditional backgrounds, Birdman has been able to create radically unique concepts for their clients. Visual Producer Akane Inada Millar already had a successful career in fashion but was eager to be a part of Birdman’s team when offered a position. Her perspective and skill set (in addition to her English/Japanese language skills) have made her an invaluable asset to this lauded company. As a key participant in the designing and implementation of Nike’s Unlimited Stadium, Akane contributed in a variety of ways which helped achieve the success of this daring project. The Unlimited Stadium was the largest and most adventurous project Birdman had created at the time and required their most talented and responsible representatives.

Fitness and sports companies like Nike are proactive rather than reactive. They attempt to discover ways of improving the performance and enjoyment of their customers rather than providing a means of fixing a problem after the fact. Vision and creativity are what is required in these situations and these words are a perfect description of Birdman. Conceiving the idea of the Unlimited Stadium was masterful but manifesting it was nothing short of bold. The Stadium’s 100-meter footprint contains 200 meters of track for runners to compete against themselves via personal avatars. Participating runners wear RFID tagged trainers which are synced to the LED screens that encompass the track. The visual effect of the lighting and images is as profound on those watching as those competing on the Unlimited Stadium.

While a number of people were involved in creating this concept, it was a small group of approximately five people, including Akane, who were on point to manifest the Unlimited Stadium in Manilla. Assisting the Birdman team in communicating with the team in Manilla, Millar took part in decisions involving aesthetics to create the proper vibe for the project. Motion graphic data was referenced to guide the look of the avatars while the key colors (the volt+) was a tie in with the shoes being promoted. The fonts were all Nike’s designated font and their branding was distinct and easy to follow.

The Nike Unlimited Stadium is visually stunning but more importantly, the desire was to create an experience for the runners which would be challenging in a benevolent manner. In terms of translating, Akane needed to be very specific and accurate with her words and terminology to communicate exactly the right emotional aspect that was desired. It was paramount to Birdman that this experience be unlike any other experience the participating runners had ever seen. The look of these “ghost” avatars was important in setting this tone but even more so were their actions. Millar explains, “Initially the idea was to time every meter and let the avatar keep running in your best time. However, in this method, it would be hard to keep track of your avatar. We discussed ways to improve and decided to time each lap and make the avatar run in the average speed of your previous lap. This was more entertaining for the runner and every lap became another challenge. Each lap became another chance to improve upon your best.

It was funny that some male runners were choosing female avatars for motivation.” Akane continues stating, “It was the creative director’s idea to make the avatars do gestures that would encourage the runners to better their records. For example, if the avatar beats you in the previous lap, it would be waiting for you at the starting line, tapping on its watch. This made the animation more interesting as if the avatars had their own mind. Without these they would seem more robotic and cold. The participants really embraced this style of friendly and funny competition. It was so satisfying to have such an immensely positive reaction to exactly what we created.” The creative director which Akane referred to is world-renowned Aste Gutierrez. Aste declares, “To be very honest, the project would not have happened and achieved the success it did without Akane. She was the anchor on the production side, bringing so much to the table in so many areas: helping with the art, managing both tech and production, motion graphics, running shoots, and even translating. She’s simply one of the most amazing people at her job. In sport, we always say your greatest competition is yourself. After working with Akane I can tell you that she is so successful because she takes this approach in her work. She always wants to challenge herself to do better each time, just as we did with each lap on the Unlimited Stadium.”

Nike’s Unlimited Stadium was a universally lauded success. Birdman and Akane both received accolades for its production. Akane admits to receiving an unexpected reward from her work. She reveals, “Aste is such a respected creative director that working with him was a bit intimidating, although he is extremely friendly. Just as intimidating was the fact that everyone from Nike and BBH were so fit and active. All of our team members had to run the track every day for debugging and I was confronted with my shortcomings. I’m still not a runner but I’m definitely more fit than I was before working on this project. The first thing I did upon returning to Japan was to join a gym.” Proof of the far reaching effects of the union of inventive promotion and sports.

Can you feel the motivation pumping? For most people, the first sunny days of the year are the biggest fitness boosters. Though it’s important to stay in good shape all year round, nothing can rekindle your passion for exercising like spring. With the ideal weather and only a few months left until the beach season, the time for hitting the gym has never been more opportune.

Here’s how to build your training regime and stay hooked.

Say No to Diets

Wintertime is all about honey-roasted pork and spicy ginger cookies, which is why most men welcome the first week of spring with some kind of diet in mind. There’s plenty of quick-fixers that promise a significant calorie drop in only a few weeks, and not all of them are ineffective. At least in the short run.

The biggest problem with these instant weight-loss solutions is that they don’t really give you the structure you need for sustaining your shape for a longer time. They make your body slim instead of making it firmer, thus robbing you of energy and physical strength. Not only that your initial weight will return quickly afterwards, but a rigorous low-calorie diet can actually endanger your health.

Fix Your Own Meals

Even if you choose to lose weight in the gym rather than by cutting off cookies, you’ll still need to slightly alter your diet. Physical training requires a balanced nutrition and plenty of wholesome, yet healthy foods, so roll up your sleeves and start cooking!

Your body will need something to burn, which means that you can feel free to eat as diversely as possible. The only thing you should avoid, in fact, is highly processed food – instant meals, frozen dinners, burgers, and artificial sweeteners. Besides ditching these altogether, you should be careful about red meats and alcohol as well. Enjoy them in moderation, and focus on whole grains, chicken, greens and fruits. These ingredients are only as nutritious as they are properly cooked, so make sure to prepare your own meals.

Include a Fat Loss Supplement

It’s hardly unlikely that a low-carb, high-protein diet won’t be enough to feed your muscles, but in case you need an additional nutrition boost, you can include a fat loss supplement to your regime. There’s plenty of highly effective fat burners for you to choose from, so research and compare before you pick one.

It’s important to note that these weight loss pills are not a replacement for healthy meals or physical exercise. They deliver promised results only when used with an appropriate diet and taken to the gym, in which case they never fail to burn unwanted fat and transform it into muscles. There aren’t any specific health concerns linked to these scientifically developed and tested products, but consult your nutritionist just in case. If you’re in good condition, you can expect to lose in between 5 and 10 pounds per month!

Stay on Top of the Schedule

Joining a gym is easy, but staying on top of your exercising schedule is something completely different. There might be the days when you’d want to skip the routine or give it all up, particularly if your job is exhausting and you have little time for yourself as it is. It goes without saying that losing weight demands utmost dedication, but even the strongest-minded of us can sometimes get awry.

There’s not a simple way to prevent this, but visualising your goal might help you lose some of the weight off your shoulders. Workout apps are another techy solution that allows you to keep track of your accomplishments, thus motivating you to endure to the end. Whether you need an assistant or not, try your best to exercise anytime and anywhere you can. An alarm clock set to an hour earlier might transform your life and keep you fit for many seasons to come.

Stay Hydrated

Though most wellness enthusiasts often forget about it, the importance of proper hydration cannot be overstressed. If you start a day with a glass of water, your fat metabolism will increase even before the breakfast and morning workout. Not only that you’ll stay energized whole day long, but hydrating will actually help you burn fat at greater speed.

Both nutritionists and health bloggers recommend 3-5 litres of water per day, but you can adjust that according to your body composition. Never wait to get thirsty to drink, and the results of your diet and exercising routines will quickly increase. Your digestion will improve as well, and so will your energy levels, your bones, and your skin.
Ultimately, there’s nothing complicated about it – as long as you’re determined and not easily discouraged, your body will be summer-ready just in time for the first beach day of the year.

NFL betting tips

There’s still seven months remaining for NFL fans to bask in the glory of Super Bowl LI. In what turned out to be one of the most exciting Super Bowls of all-time, the New England Patriots roared back from a 28-3 deficit midway through the third quarter to win the game 34-28 in the first overtime game in Super Bowl history. Congratulations to all the bettors who chose the Patriots and/or the over.

It won’t be long before future odds are being posted for the 2017 NFL season. There’s also a lot of online bookmakers and handicappers that will be busy in the coming months, trying to come up with NFL betting tips for next season.

Where to Start Looking to Make Predictions?

Without much effort, you should be able to start looking through the stats from 2016 and easily identify which tipping services and/or tipsters had the most success over the past three years. The best free NFL betting tips are likely to come from the same group of tipsters that have been having success in recent years. If you start locating them now, you might find they provide excellent information for other American sports like the NBA, MLB and college basketball. The point is it’s never too early to start building a relationship with tipsters, tipping services and/or online bookmakers.

Taking Advantage of Betting Tips on the NFL

The point spreads in the NFL are generally tight and usually on target. It takes an astute handicapper to be able to hit that magical 60% strike rate and beat the bookies on a regular basis. If you have heard of any such tipsters over the past two or three NFL seasons, you might want to think about aligning yourself with them in the offseason so you’ll be ready to start firing as early as the preseason. In fact, it’s possible that some of the more astute tipping services and touts will be putting out their best free NFL betting tips on which teams will be expected to make a serious run at next year’s Super Bowl.

In recent years, online bookmakers have been posting early lines on week 1 of the NFL season. If you can get access to some early NFL betting tips for next season, now might be a great time to start putting down some action on the board.

2017 NFL Betting Tips

With the future book odds already posted for next year’s Super Bowl, let’s take a look and a couple of angles that might point out a winner at a nice price. While the Patriots will go into the season as defending champs, it’s looking like they might be ready for father time to take over.

Dallas Cowboys

After a fine regular season led by Rookie of the Year Ezekiel Elliott, who accounted for almost 2,000 yards of total offense with 16 TDs, the Cowboys will be looking to plug some holes on defense during the offseason. With the right trade/draft choice, this team would be poised to again dominate the regular season on the way to a very likely Super Bowl victory at very attractive odds.

Oakland Raiders

At late season injury to QB David Carr cost the Raiders all the momentum they had been building up for the playoffs. They made great strides from the 2015 season and another step forward would make them the class of the AFC. They too will need to shore up a defense that gave opponents over 353 year per game, which put the team towards the bottom of the rankings for total defense.

Even the professional baseball players might testify that hitting a baseball, again and again, is one of the most daunting tasks in the sport. For, even when the ball is pitched in the same place time and again via a batting machine, the nervousness might get the better of the batter. Throw in a real life pitcher – and the varieties of the ball he can pitch, and it is safe to say that the difficult would go a notch up.

However, if you learn the aforementioned factors, you’ll be in the position of hitting a baseball with aplomb. Have a look.

How to Hit a Baseball

Step # 1: Get into position

First of all, you need to learn how to stand in the batter’s box. For, if you are a right-handed batsman, you ought to stand on the left side of the home plate in the box. As for a left-handed batsman, opting for the right side in the box seems the optimum choice.

Secondly, you need to determine which of your eyes can be dominant. To determine which of your eye is dominant, place your bat at a distance of 6meters from you.

Now, extend your arm in front of you. Afterward, raise your thumb so that the object’s view is shrouded. Now, taking turns, shut off both eyes alternatively. The eye which allows you to see the distant object more clearly is the dominant eye. Next, choose your stance. It all depends on what makes you most comfortable. Now, whether it is a youth baseball bat or a fastpitch softball bat, you need to hold your bat correctly. To do so, make sure that its grip is amid your fingers – and not between the palms.

Now, you need to hold your bat correctly. To do so, make sure that its grip is amid your fingers – and not between the palms. For a right-handed batsman, it is imperative that his right hand’s palm is pointing in the upward direction. At the same time, the left hand’s palm should be pointing downwards. For left handed batsmen, do the exact reverse.

Lastly, you need to learn how to raise your bat. After bending both elbows, push up your rear elbow until it is aligned with your rear shoulder. More importantly, both your elbows should be 6-8’’ away from you. Also, your rear shoulder should be 45* below the bat.

Part 2: How to swing it

There are seven steps to perfectly swing your Best Slowpitch Softball Bats and make sure that it hits the ball. Let’s take a brief look at each.

Firstly, you have to watch the ball. When the ball has been thrown by the pitcher, keep your head steady and your eyes focused on the ball.

Secondly, make sure that your entire weight is shifted to the back leg to the point that your back leg and shoulder are aligned. Now, after raising your front foot, take a little step in the direction of the pitcher.

Thirdly, it is important that you keep the front leg stable. However, if you feel that a flat knee doesn’t make you comfortable, bend it as per your discretion.

Fourthly, when you’re about to swing, raise the back heel. At the same point, you should shift your weight from the rear to front leg. This will make sure that more power is added to the swing.

Fifthly, to make sure the best bbcor bats swings at a maximum speed, swing your entire body, including your hips. At this stage, your elbows should be bent and folded in the proximity of your sides.

Sixthly, when you are about to hit the ball, make sure that your bat is parallel to the ground. Similarly, make sure that it has come level to the plane of the trajectory of the ball. To get a good hit, try to hit the ball with the “sweet spot” of your bat.

Finally, hit the ball in the follow through of the swing. In simple words, you should hit the ball when the swing is at the most powerful position.

There was only one way that J.C. Cloney’s older sister wanted to spend her birthday: Watching her little brother pitch. Sitting in the crowd – with a view of the mound from a boxed seat – Steffany Duggins saw her youngest brother hurl seven scoreless innings in an electric outing, underneath the Friday night lights, on the day she turned 35.

“It was amazing,” Duggins said. “Every game he’s ever pitched has been awesome. I’m a proud big sister.”

Arizona won its season opener over Eastern Kentucky University, 6-0.

Duggins, who is studying for her paralegal license, lives in Colorado and traveled to Tucson for her brother’s season debut. Since her and Cloney are 12 years apart, she did not get a chance to watch her brother play much, when they were younger.

“I couldn’t think of any other way to spend my birthday than to watch my brother pitch,” Duggins said. “He’s been playing baseball since he was 5 years old, and it’s been awesome to watch him grow into what he’s become. I’m proud of him for everything. I couldn’t pinpoint just one thing.”

Cloney, 23, is the youngest of three. In addition to his sister, the Wildcat starter has a 31-year-old brother Chris. Unlike Cloney, neither of his siblings were college athletes, although Duggins played basketball during her freshman year of high school. Cloney said he has learned lessons from both of them, outside of sports.

“My older siblings have been a big part of my life, ever since I started growing up,” Cloney said. “With them being older, I watched how they went about things and tried to mimic the good things and learn from the bad. It’s been really nice growing up with them.”

Cloney said his older brother brought the smarts to the family and helped him learn awareness and groundedness. He said Duggins instilled values into him as well.

“The biggest thing my sister has taught me is to not worry about failing,” Cloney said. “You know, be willing to fail. Because if you’re willing to fail, then you’re willing to learn.”

From a pitching perspective, there wasn’t much failure happening for Cloney on Friday night.

His final line was 7 innings on 0 runs, 1 hit, 6 strikeouts and 0 walks.

In his shutout outing, Cloney struck out a batter per frame through six innings, and his sole sacrificed hit was by the first batter he faced in the game. After Daniel McFarland’s leadoff double, the starter did not allow a hit or walk. A batter did reach base on a wild pitch strikeout in the sixth.

Out of Cloney’s 74 total pitches, 57 went for strikes.

“Other than my fastball, I felt that my location was good tonight,” Cloney said. “My off-speed pitches were working well. So I went to them a lot tonight, in all counts.”

In Arizona’s 6-0 win over the Colonels, the Wildcats scored half of their runs in the bottom of the sixth. They also pushed across one in the first, third and eighth inning.

The Wildcats look for another victory on Saturday, continuing their four-game set against EKU. Gametime is scheduled for 1 p.m. MST.

So far this season has been one of ups and downs for the top clubs. Most free football tips today have Chelsea as the favorite but a couple of losses in a row could change that quickly. There is nothing separating the teams behind Chelsea and it is going to be an epic battle for Champions League qualification. It is impossible to tell who will finish in the top four this campaign which will make the season finally great to watch.

Last season’s dreadful campaign by Chelsea could actually be a blessing in disguise. Without the demands of playing in the EPL and Champions League at the same time, the Blues have managed to focus their attention on winning back the title. With an eight-point gap between them and second-place Manchester City, they are able to slip up a couple of times. The new manager has done an excellent job at bringing together a squad that badly fell apart. If he does manage to bring the title back to the bridge he deserves the manager of the year awards.

Todays football betting tips have Manchester City as the second favorites but they will need to find the consistency that they had at the start of the campaign. It has been a difficult transition for new manager Pep Guardiola but since the turn of the year he seems to have a better grasp on what is needed to win. It may be a season too early for them to win the EPL this time around but next season they will be one of the hot favorites.

After the fantastic season that Spurs had last campaign many free tips sites thought that they could win the EPL this time around. They have an excellent defense but are still too reliant on Harry Kane. If they are going to push on they need a suitable backup striker as he was badly missed when out injured. They are an outside bet to win their first title in over 50 years but if they manage to keep playing the type of football they are capable of, they will be in with an excellent chance.

Arsenal needs a change of manager just to prove that it is not Wenger’s fault why the team bottle it each year. They are in danger of not qualifying for the Champions League and if that does happen the change could happen during the summer months. They normally finish off strong and will need to do any this campaign as with the top 6 places being so close they will need every point they can get.

Liverpool would have been top if they managed to cut out losing to the lower league clubs. Against the top team`s they have an outstanding record but seem to fall apart when playing lesser opponents. Klopp is determined to resolve this and if he does they could finally win the title the fans are so desperate to win.

Manchester United looked like they were going to have yet another dreadful season but things have turned around but are not out of the woods for Jose Mourinho. If his team keep up their current form they have a great chance of snatching one of the champions league places but the title dreams are over for this year.

American horse racing’s crown jewel is just three months away when the Kentucky Derby returns for the 143rd renewal of “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports.”  Although it is only February, we’re looking at the culmination of the Derby prep races and are about to hit the Championship series.  Here is a brief rundown of the Derby qualification process, as well as who some of the early favorites are for 2017, some heart-stopping recent races, and what’s coming next as we get closer to that first weekend in May.

Qualifying for the Kentucky Derby in 2017

The Kentucky Derby takes place this year on Saturday, May 6th and is a 1 1/4 mile Grade I stakes race for three-year-old thoroughbreds.  Qualifying for the Kentucky Derby is nearly as thrilling as the race itself, as horses contend for just 20 spots in the big race.

Called “The Road to the Kentucky Derby,” the qualification is a series of 35 races with a tiered points system.  The first series of 19 races is called the Kentucky Derby Prep Season, which runs through the third week of February.  The Championship Series is a group of 16 races, where points and purses are raised as we get closer to the Kentucky Derby.  Horses are ranked according to points, with earnings used as a points tie-breaker.

The Road to the Kentucky Derby Prep Series

The Prep Series in The Road to the Kentucky Derby began as far back as September.  Within the first six weeks, some favorites were already taking shape.  Practical Joke won the Champagne Stakes at Belmont on October 8th.  Also on October 8th, Classic Empire took first at the Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland.  Just one week later, Classic Empire repeated with a win at the major Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita.

As we move into 2017, attention has remained on Classic Empire as the points leader until this last group of Prep Season races.  On February 4th, Classic Empire ran in the Holy Bull at Gulfstream Park.  The horse has been a favorite on every Kentucky Derby futures wager pool, but may not be for much longer.  Classic Empire stunned the crowd with a poor showing at the Holy Bull, despite still coming in third place.

The winner and standout of that particular race was Irish War Cry, who won the race by 3 3/4 lengths, enjoyed a largely uncontested pace in this impressive victory.  This isn’t the first we’ve seen of Irish War Cry, who won two races, including the Marylander Stakes, late last year.

Some Early Standouts for the 2017 Kentucky Derby

The races in the past few weeks have slightly stirred the points standings, and there are some early standouts worth watching as we finish out the Prep series this month.  Classic Empire remains the points and earnings leader and is still a horse to watch going forward.  As an explanation for the Holy Bull, many horses simply don’t travel to South Florida well, and several poor showings at the Holy Bull Stakes have gone on to greatness.

Another horse worth watching closely is El Areeb, who just made waves with his win at the Withers Stakes at Aqueduct.  This win pushed El Areeb into second place in the standings, and he’s now racked up two wins in the new year.  Also keep a close eye on both Gormley and Gunnevera, who have recent wins and are near the top in the standings.

February is well underway, and there is plenty of Kentucky Derby qualifying races on the calendar to close out the month.  Look for the El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields and the Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, both on February 11th.  The final race in the Kentucky Derby Prep series is the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn on February 20th.

Nigerian immigrants in America have its largest population in Houston, Texas and that is where the super bowl 2017 is taking place.  And the son of Nigerian immigrant, Martin Ndubuisi Ifedi will be playing in the super bowl representing Houston, his city of birth, Nigeria and Africa.

Martin Ifedi

One can say without equivocation that the most important date in the National football league (NFL) calendar is the boisterous super bowl. “The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional American football in the world. The game is the culmination to a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year.”  More than 100 million people around the world are expected to watch super bowl game.

Houston (Tx) Westside and University of Memphis graduate “Martin Ifedi will experience a football player’s dream Feb. 5 at NRG Stadium, representing the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl, less than 20 miles from his alma mater,” playing against energetic New England patriots.

“A defensive end, Martin has competed against the league’s leading offense in practice and contributed to a six-game winning streak. The Falcons won the NFC with an 11-5 record and defeated Seattle and Green Bay, the latter 44-21 in the NFC championship game. Atlanta reached its second Super Bowl, including a 1999 loss to the Denver Broncos.”

“Martin was drafted by the then-St. Louis Rams in 2015, a seventh-round pick from Memphis. He holds the Tigers’ career sack record with 22 ½, highlighted by a junior season of 11 ½ sacks and 14 ½ tackles for loss and all-American Athletic Conference honors in 2013 and 2014.

He contributed to a one-season improvement from 3-9 to 10-3 by his senior year. Off the field, Martin was an all-academic selection, Allstate AFCA Good Works Team nominee and winner of Memphis’ Zach Curlin Award, given to the school’s top male student-athlete. Martin played during preseason games with the Rams and later spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad. Prior to being signed by the Falcons, he was back at Westside between holiday breaks offering advice to Wolves players.”  (Houston Chronicle)

During his college days, playing as University of Memphis defensive end, Martin was named to   Lombardi Award watch list in 2014. And being in super bowl is a result of his vim athleticism and God watching over him.

Germain Ifedi Ifedi Family of Umuoji, Anambra State

Martin Ifedi is not the only Ifedi in NFL, his younger brother Germain Ifedi made the first round pick of the American National Football League (NFL) 2016 and was drafted by Seahawk Seattle. Their parents Ben and Victoria Ifedi are immigrants from Umuoji, Anambra State, Nigeria.

Rory McIlroy spoke to the Irish Independent in an interview that covered a plethora of topics, but the second seeded golfer’s biggest comments included the great Tiger Woods. McIlroy said, “I’m probably one of the biggest Tiger fans you’ll ever come across.”

McIlroy, an avid fan of Woods, states he wouldn’t trade places with Woods.

The golfer reflects on a time in Florida when he asked Woods to dinner. Woods declined, stating that he couldn’t.

“I could not live like that,” states McIlroy. He suggests he would rather win fewer tournaments and majors than Tiger instead of living a high-profile life.

He mentions Tiger’s insomnia, which he believes is a product of the golfer’s workout schedule. McIlroy and Woods are friends, states the golfer.

“He reads stuff and educates himself on everything,” states McIlroy on Woods.

He recalled a text message from Woods at four in the morning that read: “Up lifting. What are you doing?”

Tiger’s competitiveness doesn’t tarnish his respect for McIlroy. The two discussed the ’14 Masters where Woods stated, “I’m not going to let you win that slam.” McIlroy rebutted, “You’ve never had to face someone like me.”

Jay Monahan, PGA Tour commissioner, is confident the 41-year-old Woods can win the PGA tour again. At Saturday’s SBS Tournament of Champions, the commissioner said, “Just so we’re clear, when he’s 75 years old, I’m going to think he can win on the tour.”

Multiple back surgeries kept Tiger out of competition for 15 months. The golfer plans to ramp up his schedule in 2017, with his first competition at the Farmers Insurance Open on January 26 – 29.

He will play at the European’s Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic on February 2 – 5 before going to the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic in Florida on February 23 – 26. He will play on February 16 – 19 at the Genesis Open.

Tiger has stated his ambition to play a full schedule.

The golfer last won a PGA Tour event in August 2013.

Rory McIlroy is the number two ranked golfer in the world behind Jason Day. The golfer was in the news late last week when he stated that he could mix-match clubs in 2017. He was in Dubai in December to test new clubs from manufacturers across the world.

Forbes reports that the folder will use Callaway woods and irons in his first competition of 2017. He doesn’t have an endorsement deal with the company as of writing this article.

The golfer doesn’t intend to sign an equipment deal in 2017. He formerly used Nike equipment as a brand endorser, but the company announced in August that it’s exiting the golf equipment business.

From North to South, Chile is endowed with some exciting skiing and snowboarding locations, naturally established for every lover of the game, including some excellent backcountry split boarding destinations.

If you are planning to take a break from summer, pack your bags and head south of the equator to ski and snowboard in Chile, here are 5 best places you will not want to miss.

Portillo

Situated on the same Andean sub-range with Aconcagua, Portillo stands out with a set of unique features such as unobstructed steep and steeper fall lines. The stunning beauty of this area is the main reason why you should go skiing and snowboarding here.

Being at very high altitudes you may have a adjustment period where your body adapts to the thinner air. The weather can change quickly, be sure to dress for this, especially important is to layer your insulation for flexibility.

While offering one of the most charming backdrops anyone can ever imagine, this place features amazing lifts on the two sides of the valley above Lago del Inca.

Valle Nevado

Valle Nevado amazing ski region is one of the most highly recognized centers in South America. Valle Nevado provides boarders with an exciting snowboard terrain park, full modern services and a heliboarding option to some of the best-known terrains in the Andes region.

If you are looking to get deep into the high Andes, get a snowboarding but be ready for some long approaches. Most rewardingly, this is where you will find some of the best descents in central Chile. There is also som eof the best cross country skiing in the country here. Long trails that go through stunning valleys are some of the reasons to try it here. Unfortunately they have limited rentals, best to bring your own skis.

El Colorado

This triple-threat Mecca of shredding is an inviting place you will most likely call home due to its closeness to the town of Farrellones. Accessing the backcountry area of Santa Teresita is visible through El Colorado. This is an interesting ski area where you can only find South America’s best chairlift/road accessed backcountry. El Colorado also provides skiers with amazing cliffs and pure powder fall-lines.

Pucon

Noted for its awesome weather and a good mix of spring and winter snow conditions, Pucon presents the most famous active volcanoes in South America. This one strip town offers an amazing view of the Villarrica Volcano that practically dominates every vista in town on a bright and sunny day.

Unarguably, the main reason of coming to this beautiful place is to take a snowboarding course and get to the active, belching crater of the volcano. You stand to get a surreal experience when split boarding toward the activate Villarrica. Get a chance to see a handful of other massive volcanoes – Lonquimay, Mocho, Lanin, etc. – from the rim of the Pucon volcano.

Corralco

Although the lifts here are not as active as the rest, this old spot offers unending snowboarding options. There is rarely another place in the world that offers better chances to summit a volcano after snowboarding among Monkey Puzzle trees (Araucaria forest) the same day. No doubt, Corralco is one of the Chile’s most amazing snowboard destinations.

The time is ripe for introduction of reputational sanctions against Russia http://www.groundreport.com/time-ripe-introduction-reputational-sanctions-russia/ http://www.groundreport.com/time-ripe-introduction-reputational-sanctions-russia/#respond Fri, 30 Dec 2016 02:12:44 +0000 http://www.groundreport.com/?p=5185161 The second part of the Report of Chairman of WADA independent commission Richard McLaren has been released discovering the new facts about doping drug usage in Russian sport. The second part of the Report of Chairman of WADA independent commission Richard McLaren has been released discovering the new facts about doping drug usage in Russian sport. Particularly, according to official data, the Russian sportsmen who participated in London 2012 Summer Olympics, 2013 Summer Universiade, 2013 World Championships in Athletics in Moscow and 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi have taken forbidden products and their dope tests have been falsified. Machinations were controlled by the Russian Anti-Dote Agency (RUSADA), the Federal Security Service of Russia and the Ministry of Sports.

Yet other outrageous facts of Russia’s shell game in elite sport were followed by specific decisions. Thus, bobsleigh and skeleton championship arranged to be held in 2017 in Sochi is relocated to Germany by the resolution of International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation. The next in turn is divesting Russia of its right to hold official biathlon competitions (World Cup in Tyumen, 2021 World Championship in Tyumen and Junior World Championship in Ostrov). Several leading biathlon states, such as Norway, Czech Republic, the USA, Canada etc. appealed the International Biathlon Union to deprive Russia the right to hold official competitions due to dope scandal.

As to the President of the Union of biathletes of the Czech Republic J. Hamza — “McLaren’s report seems like science fiction. It’s inconceivable that the country has to spend budget funds for state doping system. We are talking not only about football, but the entire sports. Deprivation of the right to hold competition is the first step. The others would come later, if necessary”.

Such natural and reasonable response of international sport federations was immediately declared by Kremlin as the result of hostile machinations while sport isolation of a state was explained in its peculiar propaganda manner resulted in international sanctions. However, after the close consideration a nuance of utmost importance and unpleasantness emerges. The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation decided to relocate the 2017 World Championship from Russian Sochi in view of possible competitors’ boycott.

That’s so, due to competitors’ boycott rather than upon officials’ initiative. The first to set up a boycott of Sochi competitions was Latvian nation team, later it was supported by the sportsmen from South Korea, then the Austrians and Germans. Naturally without the participation of leading sportsmen such competitions lose its significance.

After it became known from Richard McLaren’s report about 31 sportsmen from Russian nation team suspected in dope taking the leading world biathletes are waiting for punishment of Russians.

Two-time Olympic champion Marten Fourcade spoke for disqualification of Russian sportsmen, he was supported by other famous biathletes, particularly the Norwegians Bjӧrn Ferry and Emil Hegle Svendsen. The USA and Canada skiers called their Federation as well as International Olympic Committee to respond as soon as possible to publication of the second part of McLaren’s report.

Such events draw us an obvious conclusion: sportsmen are a great power capable to show that the world refuse to have “such” Russia in sports. They may also decide a future of other championships planned to be hosted by Russia, mainly because nobody wants to participate in championships without stars and potential champions.

This also refers to World Cup 2018 which can be taken away from Russian just before its opening. Such rumors already taking place both in the cabinets of FIFA officials and Russia as a whole, in general, may become real, once its participants declare their strong position against the hosting state. Moreover, first part of McLaren’s report also covers a hundreds of positive doping tests concealed by Russia in different sports including football.

FIFA stated its intention to react upon Moscow’s action regarding concealment of positive doping samples by Russian soccer players shortly after presentation of the first part of McLaren’s report. Moreover FIFA haven’t even commented a fact given by International Anti-Dope Agency regarding Russian Minister of sport Vitaliy Mutko’s order to conceal positive tests of Russian footballers while being a member of supervisory organ of FIFA.

Before there were only an option to relocate the 2018 World Cup from “SUCH” Russia by means of political will ( this option gives a variety of reasons to do it ), and now due to actions by bobsleigh, skeleton and biathlon sportsmen there arises a “sportsmen will” option. They have a right to decide where to compete. If football players take a pattern by their “winter” colleagues, none of Russian authorities in FIFA will be able to defend Russia. It would be unmoral to boycott World Cup now not being in finals. Once finals arrive national teams may also boycott Russia and demand change of the hosting state due to Russian bad name in sport.

P.S. This article has been already written prior to disqualification of two Russian sportsmen by International Biathlon Union for doping. Union also inspects files of other members of Russian team. Predicting further escalation Russian Biathlon Federation withdrew its intention to host biathlon international championship in 2017.

Moreover, International Skating Union decided to re-locate their World Cup finals from Russia (Chelyabinsk ) for the same reason — doping.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and we aren’t talking about holiday festivities. We’re talking about bowl season! With 42 games in 24 days, it’s a college football fan’s dream. And if you want to add a little more excitement to bowl season, consider trying your hand at a little recreational sports betting.

Five Tips You Need to Know

Occasionally dabbling in betting can be fun. Instead of buying tickets to go see your team play, consider throwing down a couple hundred dollars and bet on this season’s games so that you can get more excitement out of them. Here are some tips to keep you grounded:

 1. Don’t Bet on Your Teams

Your first inclination may be to place a bet on your favorite team’s game. After all, you’re definitely going to win, right? Well, not so fast. As a rule of thumb, savvy bettors never place wagers on teams they have a stake in.

“You should never bet on your team – or even teams that you passionately hate,” says Don Chino of BangtheBook. “The reason is that your emotions will get the best of you. You’ll either think that your team is much better than they really are, or you may even feel like they’re worse than they really are. Either way, you’re betting with your heart – not your head.”

 2. Look for Teams With Momentum

Bowl season is all about momentum. For example, let’s say there are two teams with 6-6 records playing in a game. While they may look fairly similar on paper in all regards, one team is 4-0 in the last month and the other team is 1-3. The first team obviously has a lot of momentum and confidence, whereas the latter team is struggling. All else being equal, take the team with the momentum.

 3. Factor in Coaching Changes

This time of year, what people in the college football world call the “coaching carousel” is in high gear. You’ve got coaches being fired, new one’s being hired, and more people being hired to fill the vacancies they’re leaving behind. It’s like musical chairs – with millions of dollars at stake.

What does this have to do with betting? Well, it plays a huge factor in a team’s psyche when their coach leaves. You have to consider the possibility that they’ll be frustrated and lose motivation. Just something to think about when you’re reviewing lines.

 4. Consider Location and Time off

While the head-to-head matchup matters most, don’t forget about intangibles like location and time off. If a team’s bowl game is in January and their last regular season game came in late November, that means they have nearly six weeks off. Some argue that more time means more rest, while others believe it allows rust to build up.

Then, there’s the location factor. Is the team used to playing in warm weather, while the bowl game is in cold weather (or vice versa)? Is the team playing in a totally different time zone? Will they be playing on artificial turf when they’re used to grass? These factors can make a big difference in the final outcome.

 5. Review Line Movement

Because there’s so much time in between when bowl matchups are announced and when they’re actually played, you’ll want to review line movement. A single line can move as much as seven or eight points in one direction if there are major changes to the game. Be patient and wait for the right line.

Make This Bowl Season Merry and Bright

Make the most out of this bowl season by enjoying a little college football betting. You may not win big, but at least you’ll have a little more fun watching the games.

The Top Benefits of Martial Arts for Children

Most parents don’t think it is a good idea to enroll their kids in martial arts training as they live in a culture that glorifies violence. Everything, ranging from video games to music, seem to be focused on violence and parents are afraid that their children are also going to become aggressive and violent. It is essential to remember that while martial arts action movies are filled with gory injuries and violent behavior, Hollywood does tend to take things a bit far. In simple terms, martial arts are a combination of physical exercises, fighting techniques and mental discipline. They coordinate the mind and body, which enables children get both mental strength and physical fitness.

There are a number of benefits of enrolling your children in martial arts training and some of the most notable ones are listed below:

Assists in Self-Defense

First and foremost, martial arts training is recommended for children because it gives them self-defense abilities. They are able to defend themselves in the case of any unanticipated danger. Lots of martial arts training programs also teach children street-smart techniques that can help them in avoiding problems altogether. With crime rates rising, it is a good idea to empower your children so they can get themselves out of tough situations. Here’s an interested video by Las Vegas Video Production Company on Martial Arts for Children.

Improve Physical Fitness

Another benefit of martial arts for your children is physical fitness. The techniques involved in martial arts require a great deal of exertion as you have to do warmups with pushups, jumping jacks and even stretches. The cardiovascular system and muscles are challenged through the movements of martial arts, which can be immensely helpful in strengthening and toning the muscles. Your child will be physically fit, flexible and toned through martial arts training.

Develop Self Discipline

Martial arts are quite handy in instilling mental focus in your children as they provide them with the ability of concentrating on one task and seeing it through until it concludes. The discipline that kids learn during training in regards to techniques, customs and uniforms often translates itself into other parts of their life, such as household chores and school.

Boosts Self-Confidence

Children who are involved in martial arts will often develop confidence early. They are provided with measurable goals when they are working through a martial arts program. There is a proper belt ranking system, which is realistic and can be attained. Every time a child masters a new technique or moves onto a new bolt, they will feel a sense of accomplishment, which is going to boost their self-confidence to a huge extent.

Nurtures their Social Skills

Martial arts training typically requires children to deal with other individuals or work in a team. This can assist children in developing social skills. They learn how to work as part of the team and cooperate with others. The kids will be able to interact with strangers in a better way, which can be extremely beneficial to them in the long run.

Table their Conflicts

In most martial arts training programs, children from different backgrounds are enrolled in one class. This means that there is a possibility of conflicts and difference of opinion. However, these schools create an ambiance that enables kids to learn the art of sharing and compassion. Over time, children are able to learn patience and can resolve conflicts at work and school harmoniously. They opt for fighting as a last resort and try everything possible before.

Develops Balance and Correct Posture

When performing any martial arts technique, it is essential for kids to maintain balance and a correct stance or else it can lead to muscle cramps and severe injuries. Bones and muscles in children are fragile because they are typically in the development stage. Instructors are able to devise appropriate programs that aid them in balancing their body and strengthening their muscles at the same time.

Learn Respect

Respect is an important component of a martial arts program and the fighting is secondary to it. Children bow to their masters as well as to their instructors. They are also taught to treat fellow students with respect and are also issued instructions to practice respect for self, teachers, parents and peers.

Top Things to Do Before Hitting the Slopes http://www.groundreport.com/top-things-hitting-slopes/ http://www.groundreport.com/top-things-hitting-slopes/#comments Tue, 20 Dec 2016 08:34:04 +0000 http://www.groundreport.com/?p=5183183 For those who are new to the slopes, a snow holiday can be a daunting experience. For those who are new to the slopes, a snow holiday can be a daunting experience. Not only are you trying to master an entirely new sport while wearing foreign equipment, you may not even be familiar with the lingo being tossed around.
However, don’t dismay. Even the pros need a few tips from time to time. Some essential tips have to do with what you should do prior to hit the slopes and – mainly – what gear you need to have with you. After all, it gets cold out there and the conditions aren’t always great. This means being prepared and having all the right gear is a must.

While there are countless new gadgets and gizmos created just for skiers and snowboarders, there are a few pieces of equipment that just can’t be beat.

The Right Helmet
When it comes to skiing vs. snowboarding, there is one factor these two sports have in common – the need for a great, protective helmet. This is especially true if you plan to bring your kids along. There are countless resorts that allow children under the ages of five and six to ski for free. While this makes it appealing to bring your little ones, you can’t take their safety – or your own – for granted.

Most resorts require you to have a great ski helmet on at all times. Wearing this essential piece of equipment can help to reduce the occurrence of head injuries from 30 to 50 percent. In fact, they may mean the difference between a minor and a serious injury. Prior to hitting the slopes make sure that you, your kids, and anyone else in your party has a helmet that fits properly.

Hand and Feet Warmers
While this may seem like something that is not an absolutely necessity, when you are out on the slopes, you are going to be glad you have them. This is especially true if you are one of those people who don’t take many breaks while out on the slopes. The good news is, many ski supply stores stock these for a pretty low cost, so you don’t have to pay much to keep your fingers and toes warm.

Goggles
It is absolutely essential that you get snow goggles before you go for snowboarding. When you take the time to find the best snowboarding goggles, they are going to last for several seasons. Also if you want to do any racing you’ll need to get your snowmobile racing gear before you come to the resort as it’s practically impossible to find anyone who rents that. However, it is essential that you keep the ski glasses in a protective, soft sack when you aren’t using them. Quality women ski goggles can help to prevent cases of snow blindness and ensure your vision remains good during hazy weather or storms. Also, they can help to protect your face from the often harsh elements present when out on the slopes. After all, the cold, stinging air can easily cause your face to become chapped.

While there are some ski resorts that offer you rental goggles, this is not always the best option. The fact is, you can’t always get a great fit and, while they are cleaned, you never know who wore them before you. If you want to ensure you have the best ski goggles, you need to purchase them prior to hitting the slopes and take care of them so you can use them for several seasons.

Water and Snacks
You may be wondering if you are reading the same list at this point. While you know you need water when participating in the hot sun, you may not be aware that it is also necessary while on the slopes. The fact is, you can easily become dehydrated while you are snowboarding and skiing. After all, your body is working overtime to adjust to the physical exertion. However, because it is so cold out, you may not be aware of how much you are sweating or that you are losing water just by breathing.

Also, when you exercise at high altitudes, it suppresses your appetite. This means you have to take periodic breaks for drinks and food while on the mountain. The fact is, once you do this you are going to have more energy to ensure you can continue having fun. If you don’t want to come down, off the mountain, you can take energy bars and small water bottles with you. The key is to use them, and use them often.

Ensure You Have Fun with the Right Gear
Regardless of how long you plan to stay on the slopes, it is essential to have the right gear with you. If you don’t have some of the items highlighted here, it is wise to go out and buy them prior to your first ski or snowboarding trip of the season. Doing so can help ensure that you can remain safe and have a great time while on the slopes.

Canadian race car driver Tim Hauraney’s professional achievements and career path can be summed up in a single word: unique. With an impressive record of international track victories, Hauraney has also distinguished himself as a broadcaster, providing real time analysis, commentary and interviews for TSN, Canada’s leading Sports News TV channel, and as the creative force behind a successful series of Nissan television commercials, which he writes, narrates, drives and stars in.

This impressive trifecta of athletics, creativity and business acumen places Hauraney in a league of his own—he is the only professional racer in North America with such a striking portfolio—and his ascension to this remarkable stature was hard-earned and completely self-propelled. But, in the field of professional racing, a complex and hazardous undertaking, ambition alone isn’t enough. It‘s a rigorous discipline that takes a great degree of both intellect and athleticism.

Formula racing, hurtling around a track in a low-slung, single seat, open wheeled missile at nerve shattering speeds, is one of the most demanding, exciting and dangerous pursuits known to man. It is also a critical stepping stone in the career of any aspiring driver, a make or break test of capability that allows one to move up to world class competition. Formula Renault, is an important entry level of racing, it represented a major opportunity for Hauraney, then a novice with limited experience, he welcomed the challenge.

“It was pretty much my first real professional racing experience,” Hauraney said. “Things got really serious for me.  The season before in the Canadian Formula Ford series had been very challenging, there were a lot of mechanical failures with the car, I only finished a handful of races, and was afraid that the Formula Renault series wouldn’t even look at me.”

“But they did,” Hauraney said. “I was 20 years old when l did a test for Condor Motorsports, and it was really hard. I wasn’t used to the power of the car, the downforce it generated. It took everything I had. Halfway through that first day I was exhausted, physically exhausted but I knew that I had to suck it up because it was just going to get more brutal. When your body gets tired, your mind goes with it, but there I was, just pushing through, trying to not make any mistakes. It was tough.”

Characteristically, Hauraney prevailed. “They thought I had the skill and potential,” he said. “I got good feedback after the test, and they needed a driver, so I was in the right place at the right time. It was a huge step forward for me, and I was finally making money racing, so that was pretty awesome, too.”

Hauraney quickly distinguished himself as a talent to watch. “He was one of the most committed drivers I’ve ever worked with,” mechanic Ray Wake said. “A lot of the drivers are out there partying, have women all around them, but he didn’t do any of that. He worked out all the time, and he was there to learn about driving and to learn about the car. You have to learn as much as you can about the car so you can tell if there are any problems. We mechanics usually get to the track at 6 am, and most of the other drivers just show up when it’s time to race but Tim always would arrive not long after we did. With Tim, it was 110% racing, all racing.”

His comprehensive grasp of all the elements involved for success as a driver provided a great advantage. “It was a real learning experience,” Hauraney said. “It’s a different type of car, a completely different type of driving. And there’s so much to learn the engineering, the speed. Like any sport, you need to be fit going in, and you gain an even greater certain type of fitness when you’re in it. You need to be strong, you need great endurance, the cardiovascular system is running really high, and you have to absorb the punishment and abuse from the track itself, the G-force out on the track, and your body adapts to that higher lever of fitness.”

“To win is great but what’s just as important is learning—you have to learn,” he said. “And there’s a lot going on, you learn about aerodynamics, you learn about tire components, there’s a lot going on and you only have so much time to practice. You get to a track you’ve been to before and you have to practice, qualify and then race, in just three days, with only 40 minute track sessions. You have to learn all the minor details of the track, where the bumps are, the fastest way around it, where the car likes to be on the track.”

As Wake bluntly stated, “In racing, there’s a fine line between skill and stupidity. If you make a mistake, you’re going to hit the wall. With Tim, there’s no room for error.”

Formula Renault provided not only the basis for his stellar career, the experience also taught Hauraney how necessary it is to see the comprehensive whole, to weave together the various aspects and balance each to achieve maximum benefit. That skill and winning attitude has propelled him to the pinnacle of his variegated professional life.

“You’re always learning,’ Hauraney said. “And you must always be prepared to learn—your concentration goes to a new level. It keeps you humble.”

Reports surfaced on Friday that numerous top football coaches and players engaged in tax evasion. Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo were both named directly in the reports.

French, Spanish and German news outlets cited documents that those involved evaded taxes.

The news broke from Football Leaks, which includes 18.6 million documents in what is called the “largest leak in the history of sports.” The website states that questionable financial transactions from some of the top names in the sports are found in the trove of documents, which includes word documents, emails, contracts and excel files.

The leaks come from the European Investigative Collaborations media group. Further documents from the group will be released in the coming days.

Mediapart alleges that Ronaldo, one of the world’s most recognized names in football, put 149.5 million euros into tax havens. The earnings come directly from sponsors. Ronaldo paid just 5.6 million euros in taxes, according to the media outlet. The amount of taxes paid is just 4 percent of the superstar’s earnings.

“Tax evasion is common among the wealthy,” states CPA John A. Knutson. “Complicated tax shelters and business creations allow the wealthy to hide their money offshore.”

Ronaldo’s representatives were quick to deny the allegations on Monday. Gestifute, the company that represents the player, insists that Ronaldo is “fully compliant with tax obligations.” The representative states that legal action may be taken against the false claimants.

Jose Enrique, Spain’s State Secretary of the Treasury, states that inspections deemed appropriate will be taken. Gestifute rebutted the claim immediately on Saturday, stating the soccer player has always operated within the tax laws.

An official document from the Spanish Tax agency confirming that Ronaldo is up to date on his tax obligations was released in a statement.

Gestifute insists it will take legal action against false and manipulated information against its clients.

Spain’s Gestha union is calling on the country’s Inland Revenue leaders to pass on any documents pertaining to Cristiano Ronaldo’s taxes. The group insists that Ronaldo would face potential jail time if he used companies and offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes.

The claims against Ronaldo suggest he used a Caribbean tax haven to avoid paying taxes on as much as 150 million euros. Tax returns from 2011 – 2013 are under an ongoing inspection. Lionel Messi, arguably the world’s best soccer player along with Ronaldo, was found guilty of tax fraud along with his father. The two were handed a 21-month prison term. The verdict is being appealed.
