4 people died in Leh, NC worker shot, injured in Sopore,Kashmir

Leh/Srinagar November 22(Vijay Kumar) - Four people died in Leh while a worker of National Conference was shot at and injured in Hardishiva, Sopore in North Kashmir

According to reports Leh Police recovered two bodies of Anil Kumar son of Parma Anand Sharma resident of Kotli Udhampur and Dewan Chand son of Daram Chand resident of Door Udhampur from their rental house at Choklamsar in Leh in suspicious conditions. Inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC was initiated by Leh police.

Police recovered another body of a labour namely Sonl Marandi son of Manesh Marandi resident of Dundia Dumko Jarkhand near Bus Stand Leh in suspicious circumstances. Inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC was initiated by Police.

In another case a Labour namely Gobin Singh resident of Nepal got injured when he was working at Hunder Dok Nobra. The injured was rushed to SNM hospital Leh for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. Police is investigating.

Meanwhile a worker of National Conference was shot at and injured in Hardishiva, Sopore in North Kashmir.

Unknown militants fired upon one NC worker namely Ghulam Mohammad Dar son of Jamal Dar resident of Hardishiva, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore, resulting in his injuries. The injured worker was rushed to Sub District Hospital Sopore for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.

Last week in the city of Faisalabad a heinous act of crime is carried out by the prison authorities on the prisoners and the journalists equally. The prisoners have claimed for bad quality of food. For which they went to hunger strike. In order to breach the strike prison authorities beat them brutally and some of the prisoners were badly injured due to the heavy shelling of tear gas by the authorities. Came to knowing of all this event a camera man of a local TV channel went there for coverage and he choose a higher place of water tank which was near the University of Agriculture. Prison police asked him to stop the coverage and then took him in the prison by force. In the prison the police also beat him with shoes and butts of the guns, before this all the cameraman had sent a report to his tv station for broadcasting during this all when connection between cameraman and newsroom broke. The channel authorities called their other representatives in the town to know about him why he broke the link. Reaching there on prison the representative irfan came to know that sajid cameraman is in the cruel hands of police. He called other TV channel representative present in the town. Seeing all this situation Dunya , ARY, Sama channel representatives called on the journalists of Faisalabd Press Club. The entire journalist went there irrespective of being a print or electronic media. All traffic was jammed on the both side of the road. The road was totally blocked one side from sargodha rad and other from Narwala road. The journalists protest by brutally beating the journalist and abusing him. In the meanwhile DCO Faisalabad came there and journalists raise the slogan against prison authorities to dismiss the jailor and Superintendent of the district prison. Protest was continued and all TV channels were live broadcasting this entire event after every fifteen minutes. Mean while a member of provincial assembly Khawaja Islam came there and ask to end the protest but journalist were showing unity and they all were together on one agenda that the dismissal of the Superintendent of prison Raza ullah Khan. Finally a DIG headquarter from Lahore came to see the event. He hears the entire event and found that in this matter the prison authorities are guilty. He dismissed the superintendent and thus the journalist ends their protest. Very next day Chief Justice of Punjab High Court Khawaja Mohammad Sharif took “So Moto” action against prison authorities and admired the journalists by highlighting this act of cruelty by the prison authorities on the prisoners

X Factor Week 7, What the Judges said!

It was George Michael and Wham week on The X Factor tonight and the remaining six finalists took the stage by storm to impress the judges.

Lloyd Daniels - Faith

Dannii: "Lloyd, that was a great opening to the show. You look fantastic tonight - it's like a whole reinvention. You've definitely got something that is the X factor and we can't put our finger on it. I'm just hoping that each week the vocals keep going up and up, because where we are in the competition you need to have a wow moment. At the end of the song the falsetto was great - you need to use that more, that's your trick."

Louis: "Lloyd, I know you were under a lot of pressure this week because you were in the bottom two, but you came back fighting. I love your new haircut, I love your new image, I love everything - except the voice. I think you're a real popstar, but I think you're out of your depth now. I think there are better singers than you."

Simon: "Actually, Lloyd, that surprised me because it wasn't bad at all. I'm not saying it was the best vocal I've ever heard, but you look a lot better, you're starting to perform to the public and it started to feel believable. Maybe you've started to believe in yourself. You stepped up in a week - very good."

Cheryl: "It's really amazing for me to watch you grow before my eyes. I feel like you're turning into a little man. You look adorable and I think that was your best, most comfortable performance."

Stacey Solomon - I Can't Make You Love Me

Louis: "Stacey, last week you absolutely stole the show, and I want everybody to know you are a great performer and there is nothing phoney about you. Whatever it is, star quality, you've definitely got it and I think you're definitely going to make the final three. And Dannii picked a brilliant, brilliant song for you."

Cheryl: "What's happened now is your voice has become as big as your personality, and that's what we were all waiting for. It was a great song choice, you just need to believe you can win now. You need to start believing you're the winner because you could do it."

Simon: "You are, as it showed in the film, one of the most genuinely nice people we've had on these shows. You really are, and I think you've turned into a little star. Do I think it was as good as last week? No, I don't. It was a little bit mechanical in parts. The last part was very good, but the first part was a little bit clumsy. But there's no question you're going to be here next week. I'd be amazed if you weren't."

Dannii: "Stacey, that was such an elegant performance - so, so beautiful. I just have to say this show is all about dreams and making people's dreams come true, and Cheryl's right - you have to believe this could come true for you, because they [the audience] do."

John & Edward - I'm Your Man

Dannii: "Wow guys. You look amazing. You know what really shocked me tonight - the singing was in tune and the rapping was out of time. I don't know what's happening now, I'm totally confused. It was fun..."

Cheryl: "Out of all the contestants you've been on the biggest and toughest rollercoaster, and no matter what happens you need to be really proud of yourself for coming this far."

Simon: "I don't think it was George and Andrew - it was Andrew and Andrew. But look, guys, it was a perfect song choice. I do think Louis is giving you too much to do. He's turned you into his version of Action Man dolls. Every week, there's crazy, crazy choreography."

Louis: "Because they can do it! They never stop rehearsing. Everywhere I go young girls are shouting 'Jedward, Jedward, Jedward'. These guys are connecting with them. I'm having the best time of my life working with you. But I need people to vote for you guys. This year would not be the same without them - we'd have no fun."

Simon: "What I would say is you did have quite a hard time at the start and you have converted a lot of people. I think you've done that just by being relentless. You're like an unstoppable machine at the moment."

Danyl Johnson - Careless Whisper

Dannii: "Danyl, that is one of my all time favourite songs, a classic. I think Simon did the right thing by choosing a really original version of that for you - it was a wise move and you sang it perfectly."

Louis: "Danyl, there's no doubt you can sing anything, but I think you tried too hard tonight. I would have preferred a different arrangement. You're a great singer but I think you're trying too hard and I think Simon is making it very difficult for you."

Cheryl: "I've got to be really honest with you, Danyl. Parts of that were really flat. The start was exposed because the track is so bare. But I think your image and performance are always fantastic."

Simon: "Well, Cheryl, I think we were listening to two different songs there, I genuinely do. Because why that was so good, in my opinion, was that that is what is called respecting the song. Taking it, listening to it, and most importantly doing something original with it. No doubt Louis would have had you up in the scaffolding in a T-shirt. How can you say I tried too hard? By the way, to clear something up Danyl, you are 100% right to have chosen that song. It was your decision and it was the right decision."

Olly Murs - Fast Love

Dannii: "Olly, Olly, Olly - Essex must be going mad for you tonight. You're always polished and you know how to rock the audience. That's a particularly hard song to sing, because you have to tune into the bass line. The first half did have tuning problems, but once you got into the higher register you were really kicking through so just watch that."

Louis: "I loved everything about your performance. You have the potential to be the new popstar up there with Robbie, Gary, Will Young and the others. You're a natural mover, and there's nothing fake about you - everything about Olly Murs is real. You've got the potential to win this competition."

Cheryl: "You know what the best thing about you is, Olly? You've got really broad appeal. Young lads think you're cool and want to knock about with you, girls love you, kids like you. There's no fuss about you, you get your head down and get the job done. You always come out and deliver. I really like you Olly, and I wish you all the best. And I really enjoyed your performance."

Simon: "You're going to have no problems with the chicks when you leave the competition! You are turning into a really, really, really good, fearless performer. Joe McElderry - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

Dannii: "Joe, four judges standing for you! That was exceptional. And it's kind of weird - when you first walked out I could see you were nervous. You don't need to be. You have such passion and a real honesty to your voice. I love you. You deserve to be here and I would love to see you in the final."

Louis: "That was definitely the best performance of the night vocally, in every way. The thing I like about you is you show up and do your job. There's never a problem with you. You've got a great appeal, like Olly. I think you could be a UK Michael Bublé. The only problem is the songs were George Michael songs and Madam here [Cheryl Cole] broke the rules - that's an Elton John song. George Michael sang a little bit of it but it was a hit for Elton."

Simon: "Here's a new rule - we're going to stop you from speaking. Because after this young kid gets up on stage, does the performance of his life and absolutely 100% nailed the song - and you've got the audacity to sit there with your silly, stupid little rulebook again and say he only sang half the song... who cares? Who cares what you think? I've got to tell you, Joe, I take a little bit of credit for this because I told you in rehearsals to give it that extra 10% and you did, so congratulations."

Cheryl: "Joe, you just stole the show. You absolutely smashed it and I couldn't be more proud of you. I could absolutely burst with pride when I watch you. You're adorable, I love watching you, and here's to the final."

J&K Woman Minister urged women folk to shed ignorance & play their role in eradication social evils

Jammu,November 21,(Vijay Kumar)- J&K lone woman Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Itoo has urged women folk to shed ignorance and play their role in eradication of social evils.

Addressing the gathering soon after inaugurating a 2-day legal awareness programme organized by J&K State Women’s Commission at Samba, here today, the Minister said that more and more awareness programmes should be organized to ensure participation of women to sensitize them about their indispensable role for the society at large. The programme conducted in collaboration with SAHYOG India, a Non-Government Organization is sponsored by National Commission for Women, New Delhi.

Saying that every citizen must abide by the laws enacted to provide protection to women Ms. Sakina said that without the participation of women, the development of the nation could not be undertaken properly. She stressed upon the women to look forward, raise their voice against injustice and other atrocities to build a value-based society. She apprised about the organizations working for upliftment of women folk and asked the women to cooperate with them for progressive future. The Minister complimented the women Commission and Sehyog India for their tireless efforts to ensure women upliftment. She asked them to focus on awareness programmes and reach out to the women folk at their doorsteps particularly those residing in remote and, inaccessible areas so as to educate them about their legal rights. She divulged that the Chief Minister has assured to appoint a suitable chairperson for the Commission soon.

Citing examples of popular women of India who strived hard to bring equality and justice in the society, Ms. Itoo asked the women to follow their footsteps to bring about improvement and healthy change. Asking them to avail the benefits provided under various schemes like self help groups, loan facility, self employment avenues and others, the Minister said that by participating in these programmes, women can progress towards a bright future. She also highlighted the role of women in eradication of social evils and implementation of Domestic Violence Act in J&K.

On the occasion, the Minister distributed appreciation certificates to big donors for their efforts in raising maximum funds for the welfare of suffering humanity.

Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ms. Sheetal Nanda, , said that every citizen must honour the laws enacted to provide protection to women and also to achieve the objectives of equality and development as women commission is to eradicate the evils of exploiting the women and ensuring welfare, protection and relief to them.

Dr. Ashvini Jojra Founder President SAHYOG INDIA said in the state like Jammu and Kashmir the women have multi-dimensional hardships and the women commission is a platform for the women with the appropriate authorities. SAHYOG INDIA will put all efforts to take programmes of women commission to the grass-root level with result oriented approach, she said.

Member Secretary of J&K State Commission for Women, Hafiza Muzzaffar gave elaborative details regarding the women commission and its policies to ensure the welfare of women in all circumstances. She said to strengthen the women commission regular workshops, seminars and debates shall be organised in remote areas to bring the needy under the canopy of commission and other relevant agencies.

Vision of Indira Gandhi to make J&K most developed & modern State will be fulfilled

Jammu, November 19 (Vijay Kumar):- Like other parts of the country, the National Integration Week coinciding with the 92nd birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister of India, late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, also took off in the state. In this connection, a state level function, to pay homage to late Indira Gandhi was organized at R. S. Pura, Jammu which was presided over by President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, . Saif-ud-Din Soz.

A large number of the people attended the function, which was organized by the Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R.S. Chib.

The Deputy Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, S. Arvinder Singh Micky, Minister for PHE, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for Revenue, Raman Bhalla, Congress MP, Legislator and senior leaders addressed the function.

Mr. Soz in his tribute described Mrs. Indira Gandhi a dynamic personality and great enthusiasm led the progress ad prosperity who led the Nation to make a rich in the advanced countries of the world in the field of modern science and technology. He said that best way to pay tribute to the great leader is to fructify her dream about making India the most advanced and developed country of the world.

Mr. Soz said Indiraji was a great statesman and Parliamentarian who tirelessly worked for the development of the nation on all fronts and sacrificed till lost to drop for upholding its sovereignty and integrity. R. S. Chib while welcoming the congress leaders for their participation in the function and also paid rich tributes to late Prime Minister and highlighted her contribution in eradication of poverty and illiteracy in the country and expressed his gratitude for their participation in the function.

Raman Bhalla on this occasion, impressed upon congress workers to remain united and vigilant about nefarious designs of antinational elements.

Describing late Indiraji as architect of modern India, Mr. Bhalla said that she was instrumental in nationalizing banks and launching mega projects in power, agriculture, railways, and other vital sectors.

Dy CM Tara Chand said that the long pending demand of the people of Khour block to construct a bridge in the area stands fulfilled and the foundation stone was laid on 92th birth day of late Indira Gandhi who had sacrificed her life for the nation. He said that Smt. Indira Gandhi always worked for the upliftment of weaker sections of the society and secular character of the party for which the late leader was hailed globally. He said that the dream of late Smt. Indira Gandhi to develop the State and make it prosperous will be fulfilled and so that State competes on socio-economic front with other states of the country.

Paying rich tributes to late Smt Indira Gandhi on her 92rd birth anniversary being celebrated today, Minister Saroori said that she sacrificed her life for nation. He said that Indira ji always worked for strengthening secular character of the party for which she was hailed globally. Addressing on the occasion, the Minister of State for Co-operatives, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma reiterated the commitment of the coalition government to provide basic amenities including road connectivity, drinking water, electricity etc. in all the regions of the State. He said that the Central Government under the dynamic leadership of UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is making liberal funding to develop the State.

Dr. Sharma said that the Government is aware of the problems confronting the people and will solve these in a phased manner. He sought people’s cooperation for the coalition Government in implementing the developmental and welfare programmes launched to benefit the people at grass root level.

MLC Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil and former Minister Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak were also present. They also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the policies and programmes of the coalition Government. Webber readmitted to hospital

Andrew Lloyd Webber has been readmitted to hospital after developing an infection during cancer surgery.

Webber confirmed last month that he was suffering from prostate cancer and his spokesperson said that he was aiming to be working again "before the end of the year".

In an update on Webber's website, his representative claims that Webber won't be back at work until the New Year.

"Andrew has been readmitted to hospital tonight following his operation for prostate cancer," read the message. "He has been advised that while the operation was entirely successful, he has developed a post-operative 'chronic infection' which needs immediate treatment. He still hopes to be back at work in the New Year."

A brand new online talent competition is set to our browsers from February 2010. Discovered on MySpace a format owned and produced by Wyrley Media will focus on searching for the next big unsigned talent from the MySpace community.

Recent rumours arose that the likes of Katy Perry or Lily Allen are lined up to perform and possibly sit on the judge's table for the show.

A representative from Wyrley Media said; "We haven't confirmed anybody as of yet to judge this new format, however we are in talks with multiple management companies for different artists who first found fame from MySpace".

Could Discovered on MySpace be the new X Factor but only air online? Would it rival other competitors?
