The video was randomly recorded in two villages “Mujatati” and “Kabarikanda” of Mymensingh districts from 12-15 December 2008. The rural interviewers expressed their real feeling with instant opinion; could be called “Public Demand on Election 2008 of Bangladesh”. These rural voices portray the majority voices and vision of election, democracy, reality and future political leadership in Bangladesh.

The video was captured by Siraj and J.Alam of Machizo with association of Shujan, Sanjit and Munam Master; however with the production concept and planning of AsifSalah@Drishtipat and Shahjahan Siraj@Machizo. The video is open content and free for distribution both online of offline by mentioning the credit to Drishtipat and Machzio.

Video on AIDS Day 2008 Celebration in Bangladesh In the year 2008 also Bangladesh celebrated widely the World AIDS Day. The ‘bdaids’ ( http://www.bdaids.com ) as it first initiative recorded the rally started from Manik Mia Avenue ( Parliament Building ). All the HIV/AIDS activist organizations, NGO and Educational institute including National STD/ AIDS program joined in the event.

After the rally the AIDS Fair at China Bangladesh Convention Centre was organized. The huge visitors and activist was inspired and participated in the event. The number of organizations arranged campaign and display their publications and promotional materials in AIDS Fair.

This web documentary has been directed by the HIV/AIDS activist A.F.M. Iqbal with support from Light House and Machizo Multimedia . The film has been recorded by J. Alam and edited by Shahjahan Siraj

Durgapuja @ video

Durgapuja is the biggest religious festival of Hindu, especially Banglali Hindu community. The festival celebrates every year in the middle of October for 10 days long. The Goddess Durga is Mother of the Universe. She represents the infinite power of the universe and is a symbol of a female dynamism. Durga is the sign of Justice and Peace. When demonic forces create imbalance, all god unite and becoming one divine force called Shakti or Durga. Goddess Durga killed the powerful demon Oshur and his commanders for controlling the universe with goodness as God will.

This force is sculptured as Durga statue with ten armed hands. She is most often shown as riding on a lion. However she is gorgeously dressed up with royal red cloth, ornaments, smoothing eye, crown and luminous dark hair. The various tools in Her hands reflect the eminent supremacy of god.

After nine days long worship with total heart and devotion Hindu believers feel the unity with God through Durga. They respect Durga as true mother and sacrifice the statue in river in day of ten, which is know as doshomi . In Bangladesh and India Durga puja nationally celebrate as holiday.

Japanese Wedding ( with video clip )

Japanese wedding is very expensive, elegant and serene event. The spring and autumn are the weddings seasons in Japan. Ancient time the traditional marriage was held at Shinto shrine. But now it is organised at hotel, restaurants and wedding places.The members and relatives of both bide and bridegroom's family attend in the ceremony.

Traditionally, a bride in Japan wears a white silk kimono in which price is nearabout twenty five thousand dollars to purchase. A groom wears a haori on the top and a hakama on the bottom, all in black. The bride will usually change into different kimonos up to five times during the wedding day. Some Japanese brides wear wigs as part of the tradition of the kimono wedding dress. The wig is heavily decorated in artificial flowers, gold combs and pearls. The wedding party will also dress in kimono’s, usually in a color chosen by the bride.

Mi-ai, Yui-no, Nakodo, Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Receptions are the main components of Japanese wedding.

VIDEO: Janmashtami - Krishna's Birthday Celebration

The Hindus celebrated Janmashtami, a religious festival marking the birth of Lord Krishna, across the country amid festivity and religious fervour on 24 August, 2008. Hindu religious organisations arranged various programmes including prayers to Krishna, puja, discussion, padabali kirtan, Geeta Jaggyam (special prayers), devotional songs in praise of Krishna, drama and cultural functions at different temples.

In the capital, Dhaka, thousands of men, women and children joined the historical Janmashtami rally and procession brought out from the DhakeshwariTemple to Bahadur ShahPark after parading different roads.

According to the Hindu faith, Krishna, the incarnation of God, descended to this world some 5,500 years ago with a vow to establish love, truth and justice. Devotees on this day celebrate his 'birth' on earth.

We, the students of newmedia of ULAB, were surprised after investigating Savarï¿½s environment. Barind Tracks Savar, located nearby Dhaka, was famous for Shal forest, but now deforestation is happening by unplanned urbanization. The water bodies are filling up, rivers are ruining ï¿½. here climate not only changing by nature, but polluting by misuse and carelessness.

People donï¿½t feel nature is the part of life. But exploiting dangerously without awareness. The two stroke vehicles are also pushed in Savar ! The environment of this area is treated as orphan! After seeing Bongshi River we were disappointed, even we were dare to touch the polluted water. The marginalized communities are struggling to survive. We are not against of urbanization or industrialization. But present trends are not favorable for lives. Industrial chemical pollution is increasing seriously day by day. If we can not save the water, life will be more miserable. This is the time to take actionsï¿½...
