The Ministry Of Internal Affairs in Malaysia will screen incoming visitors carefully from now on. This is to determine which visitor is wanted and which is not.
The new Minister Of Internal Affairs, Datuk Syed Hamid Albar told the press yesterday. He was asked to comment on many calls and pleas from distraught parents whose daughters were being held in foreign jails after being caught with drugs on their bodies.
For the past few years increasing numbers of young Malaysian women were used by sophisticated International drug syndicates as couriers for their tarfficking activities.
"It is a sad state of affairs that has hit our country," syas the Minister.
"Local girls are being duped by members of certain International drug syndicates who promised them handsome payments for their work," he said further.
Following such calls, the Immigration Department were ordered to sift through the details of every foreigners arriving in the country. The authorities will from then on, determine which visitor should come in and which one to kick out.
The latest arrest in this saga occurred in Malta. In january, Malaysian Dyg Sakienah Mat Lazim and Nurfaizura Azura Mad Lias were said to be decived by a local woman working for the syndicate. Dyg Sakienah was from Bukit Payung,Terengganu and Nurfaizura Azura from Pangkor, Perak.
Earlier on these drug syndicates even used the Romeo tactics. Very handsome men who are also built like Male Models were used as baits and pretended to fall in love with female Malaysians.
After several whirlwind dates these Romeos went overseas and pleaded with the women to carry a bag which they have left behind. Out of love, these girls obeyed and of course were caught eventually.
Of course the parents of these girls approached the Foreign ministry for help. Sadly, many of the women pleaded guilty and asked the Foreign Courts for leniency. Their fates are thus sealed.
