Nicholas Browning, a Maryland teenage accused of killing his parents and two brothers will be tried as an adult on four counts of first degree murder, a judge ruled yesterday.
Nicholas Browning is accused of shooting and killing four members of his family in February of this year. A psychiatrist for the defense testified that Browning suffered from a dissociative disorder and didn’t realize what he was doing when he killed his family. The prosecution also presented documents from two psychiatrists saying that Nicholas Browning doesn’t have any mental illness.
People close to the Browning family say that Nicholas Browning was physically and emotionally abused by his alcoholic parents, John and Tamara Browning while growing up. They say that Nicholas Browning himself began abusing alcohol at age 14. The Browning family was popular in their Cockeysville, MD town. 1,300 people attended funeral services for the family.
