At least two times, co-Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton has giving the implication of a possible “Clinton-Obama” ticket implying she would ask co-Democratic frontrunner Barack Obama to be her VP running mate. Her husband, former United States President Bill Clinton said that ticket would be deemed as “unbeatable.”
However, co-Democratic frontrunner Barack Obama sees it differently. Instead, Obama attacked the suggestion brought forth by Clinton. Obama made note that he has won more states and delegates than Clinton has so far in the primaries and caucuses. He said to voters that they must choose between himself or Clinton for the Democratic nomination.
“I don’t know how somebody who is in second place is offering the vice presidency to someone who is in first place,” Obama addressed a cheering crowd in Columbus, Mississippi.
Obama’s campaign promised to aggressively respond and to counter-attack criticisms from Hillary Clinton. So far, this was the first time that Obama has given any sort of response to the notion of the ticket suggested by both Bill and Hillary Clinton. He had never given the suggestion or the idea he would accept a VP spot.
Then Obama attacked Clinton for giving the suggestion. Obama said that Clinton’s suggestion of a possible ticket had made no sense because she said he was not ready to be president.
“If I’m not ready, how is it that you think I would be such a great vice president?” Obama asked.
This could possibly be ammunition to be used in the future.
