SWAT, Pakistan– High hopes were created after announcing the Nizam-e-Adl accord in Malakand agency by the N.W.F.P’s chief minister, Amir Haider Khan Hoti today.
The chief minister signed an accord here in Peshawar with the Tehrik Nafaz-e-Sharia Muhammadia (TNSM) chief Maulana Sufi Muhammad, the delegation comprised of Amir Izzat deputy chief and other members of the organization.
TNSM, a banned organization that had started an armed struggle for the enforcement of Sharia (Islamic laws) in Malakand agency almost a decade back in Malakand agency.
Maulana Sufi Muhammad was imprisoned by the former dictator Pervaiz Mussharaf in past, but the new provincial setup released him as a gesture of goodwill and for renouncing the militancy last year.
The enforcement of Nizam-e-Adl regulation is a judicial system based upon the Holy Quran, Hadith, Qias and Ijma; in addition, all the un-Islamic laws and practices will be scraped, according to media reports.
The Swat chapter of Taliban led by Maulana Fazalullah, the son in law of Sufi Muhammad has welcomed the accord and termed it a great initiative towards the peace in Swat valley.
The TNSM leadership will go to Swat valley and convince Maulana Fazalullah and his fighters to renounce the militancy and they will hold meetings in Matta, the hotbed of militants in the valley.
The Swat accord is a ray of hope for the people of Swat valley, Bajaur, Mohmand agencies and other areas wherever the fighting is going on between the security agencies and Taliban because it has opened a door towards peace and the way to resolve all the issues through dialogue.
