Is It Okay To Ignore God’s Holy Word In The Bible?
This Article is directed more toward the ladies than toward the men, but the lesson is there for all.
You may think this as some ridiculously, idiotic, and petty, nonsensical, complaint coming from Dave, coming from a man, BUT, it is not.
I have tried to Fight the Holy Spirit over this one on just those grounds, YET, here we are, I’m writing it, not because I want to but because Holy Spirit wants it which means God wants it too.
I guess since I serve my God dutifully, I cannot simply choose the topics to write on. I must write on that which God asks and feels important.
Questions we need ask regarding Holy ScriptureDo you consider yourself truly a “Christian” OR only if it doesn’t interfere with what you want from being a Christian?
Ladies:
Do you consider the Holy Bible to be God’s Holy Word? Do you try to apply all of God’s teachings as they rise up in your life? OR do you pick and choose which teachings you want to apply in your life and omit the others that are not comfortable or don’t fit.
Do you believe God’s Holy Word in the Bible to be inerrant and infallible? In other words is God’s Holy Word in the Holy Bible viewed by you as God’s word or is the Bible just a quaint book of stories with morals incorporated in it. ?
Do you believe and accept the Holy Bible as God given authority for teaching and guiding you?
Do you think as a true Christian, that Holy Scripture, The Word of God is only applicable in your life, if you so choose it to be and that you can dismiss and ignore it if it doesn’t please you?
The Holy Scripture in question is:
l Corinthians: 14:34-35
“Let your women keep silent in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under the law of obedience as also with the law.”
Was this law only meant to apply up until 1980’s when women started becoming ministers and pastors in church or is this a command, that should endure for ever like other commandments?
Since when as true Christians did we decide that we are smarter or better than God, since this command comes directly from God’s Holy Word the Bible.
Also lets look at:
I CORINTHIANS: 11: 1-7 KJV
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you bretheren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I deliver them to you.
But I would have you know that the head of every man, is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Every man praying or prophesying, having his head (covered), dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head (uncovered?) dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
For if the woman be not covered, let her be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, for as much as he is the image and the glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
I know, I know, women have fought long and hard to gain equality with the man, and some of what Women’s Liberation has achieved is marvellous,
BUT,
when women choose to go against Almighty God’s Holy Scripture and flatly refuse to follow God’s teachings and ordinances, no matter how small or petty God’s request or teaching might seem, are not women in defiance of God? Are women actually telling God “NO” we know better than you God? Seriously I hope not.
I know that this is nit-picking and maybe even petty, but God would not have included such teaching in the Bible if he didn’t think it necessary and see a need for such a stipulation to be made.
Back in the 1940’s, 50’s, 60, and early 70’s, no woman would ever think to go to church or enter church without covering her head with either a stylish hat or at least a scarf and a woman wearing pants to church was out of the question.
Then along came “Women’s Liberation” and women began demanding this and that, they started wearing pants to church and removed their head covering, but by doing this, in the eyes of man as well as God, they lost humility and respect both for their husband and for God.
What they didnot understand and maybe didn’t care about was that in doing these things, not only were they protesting against men and male domination, they were also protesting against God by refusing to adhere to God’s teaching in His Holy Word the Bible. Yes women were saying “NO” to God their very creator.
The Lesson that God is teaching through Paul in these scriptures is that by refusing to comply with this little regulation, you dishonour your husband who is supposed to be seen as the head of the family, but more importantly, by dishonouring your husbands you choose also to dishonour Jesus and dishonour God from whom all laws and regulations flow.
By not covering your head as a woman when you go into church, is but a tiny violation of God’s regulations, but if we feel it is ok to break one little regulation then where do we draw the line.
Does it then become ok to shoplift, or to covet your neighbor’s lawn chairs. Does it become ok to lust after your neighbor’s mate? These to are God’s regulations too. Does it become ok to tell God, I don’t have time for you because I want to go shopping or to the cottage on Sunday, rather than keeping the Sabbath?
I definitely would not be writing such an article if God and Holy Spirit did not wish me to and ask me to write it.
God has a reason for everything. We may not know His reason, He may never tell us His reason but does that even matter.
If we are Christian then we choose to follow God and his teachings through His Holy Word The Bible? If we are not Christian, we can choose not to do so.
