Flanked by thousands of his supporters drawn from far-flung areas of Bhaderwah constituency, Independent candidate from Bhaderwah constituency Master (Retd.) Fazal Alam Wani today filed his nomination papers at Bhaderwah.
Relevant to mention here that Master Fazal Alam Wani is contesting against former Chief Minister (CM), Ghulam Nabi Azad of Congress. Other two main political big wigs who are contesting from Bhaderwah Assembly segment are National Conference (NC) candidate M.A Goni and BJP candidate D.K Kotwal.
Earlier Master Fazal was escorted by thousands of his supporters up to the venue of filing nomination papers. On the way supporters of Master Fazal (Who are political victims) rocked the Bhaderwah town shouting slogans in his favour.
After filing the nomination papers, a massive rally was organised which passed through main streets of the Bhaderwah town.
Master Fazal while addressing the rally appealed to the people of Bhaderwah and others living in cities to come forward and support the movement launched by him to end the dynastic rule and ‘Chachaa Bhitega Wad’ (political favouritism). He assured the people living in cities that ‘Gaon Bachao Andolan’ will not be confined to rural areas only and invited them to come forward and join his hands to ensure unbiased development and solution to the basic problems confronting every one. Replying to a question by media men, Master Fazal ruled out any influence of separatists’ call for poll boycott in Bhaderwah. He mentioned that if their call could not prevent people from participating in electoral process in
Master Fazal is the only candidate in the history of Bhaderwah who has initiated ‘Save The Villages Movement’ as more than 70 percent of the population of Bhaderwah is living in villages and have been neglected and ignored by the mainstream political leaders in every spare of life.
Relevant to mention here that when the rally was being addressed by Master Fazal today st Bhaderwah. The election campaign parties had intensified election campaign in favour of Master Fazal in all the areas coming under 97 Polling Stations out of total 112 which are in rural belts.
Master Fazal lamented the lack of basic facilities in the rural areas of Bhaderwah constituency. He regretted that for last 60 years population residing in villages remained neglected for which he accused the political leaders for ignoring these 70 percent of people living in the villages. Master Fazal assured that he will work dedicatedly to uplift the rural people as the other section will not be sidelined.

Worthwhile to mention here that till date constituency was represented by Chuni Lal of NC in 1957 and
1962 while as Jagat Ram and Bodh Raj of the Congress party won the
1967 and 1972 elections. Narayan Dass of JP won from here in 1977
while as H.L Hiteshi of NC wrested the seat in 1983. Hari Lal of
Congress represented the constituency in 1987 while as Sheikh Abdul
Rehman of BSP won from Bhaderwah in 1996, Mohammed Sharief Niaz in
2002 and due to the resignation of Niaz, by-election was held on 24th
April, 2006 and Ghulam Nabi Azad of Congress was elected.
