KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Delaware women’s soccer co-captain Allegra Gray was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) second team All-Mid-Atlantic Region squad Thursday.
This award adds to the already impressive list of accolades the senior has received this season. Gray had previously been named first team All-Colonial Athletic Association, was selected to the CAA All-Academic Team, and nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-American honors.
She is a three-time All-CAA selection and was named to the third team all-region squad as a junior in 2013. The statistics major is also the reigning CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s soccer.
Gray (West Chester, Pa./Unionville HS) led a Blue Hens defensive unit that registered five shutouts in 2014. The senior played in 17 games with 16 starts and saw action in 65 games during her Delaware career.
“We are very proud of Allegra’s accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom,” said University of Delaware head coach Scott Grzenda. “She has been an outstanding player, captain, student, and teammates. She will be sorely missed next year.”

Delaware finished the season 7-9-2 and tallied a 3-4-2 CAA record, which earned them a tie for sixth finish in the CAA standings.
