11 MILLION IRANIANS LIVING IN RURAL SQUALOR

INU- An estimated 11 million people in Iran live without basic facilities such as running water, electricity and sewage pipes, a newspaper in the regime has revealed.

Nariman Mostafaei, director general of empowerment and organization of informal settlements, told Iranian daily Mardomsalary that 11 million Iranians – or one seventh of the population – live outside cities without even the most basic utilities.

Experts have described ‘fringe living’ as the exclusion of part of the population from the political, economic and social life of the nation, which is one of the richest countries in the region with $700 billion income from oil exports during the eight years of Ahmadinejad’s presidency.

The official news agency IRNA quoted Rouhani Deputy Health Minister Ali-Akbar Sayari on December 4 claiming that 78% of Iranians have a poor diet with includes a lack of fruit and vegetables.

Some 12 million Iranians are living in poverty according to a senior official of the Iranian regime. This is their first public admission to extensive hunger in the oil rich country.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs said poverty is assessed based on the three indices of revenue, appropriate health and education services, reported the state-run Mehr news agency on December 5.

Ali Rabiei said 12 million people suffer from “food poverty” in Iran.

On Novemer Iranian officials have revealed shocking new statistics about the lives of women and children under the Ayatollahs’ regime, including the fact that 1.7 million children are currently working in Iran, according to the state-run News Network TV.

Mostafa Fayzi, head of Inspection Organization of the Tehran Municipality, revealed that the city uses children to collect the trash.

Additionally, Rahmatollah Hafezi, an official of the Tehran Municipality, acknowledged that 3,000 women sleep are forced to sleep in the streets just in Tehran alone. According to Reza Jahangiri, Deputy Director of State Welfare Organization of Tehran Municipality, the average age of these women is 17-18 years old.
