Two women and a man were burnt alive on Sunday. The women were charred to death, while the man is in a critical condition at the Osmania General Hospital. All of them are daily wage workers at Malakpet Market and residents of Nandanavanam Colony, LB Nagar.
According to police, one of the victims, Satyamma alias Balamani 26, was married to Mallesh, 29, seven years ago. She had burnt alive her husband in March 2008 as he was an alcoholic and he used to bet her up. She was arrested and remanded at Chanchalguda women jail for two months.
To avenge his son’s murder, Narasimha, father of Mallesh, and his youngest son Balaraj went to Satyamma’s house on Sunday and doused Satyamma in petrol. They set her afire. Satyamma’s mother Anantamma and father Balaiah were also set ablaze.
