Baramulla/Srinagar, December 27 (Scoop News) – DIG North Kashmir Muneer Ahmad Khan today said that during the current year so far 26 terrorists including five local terrorists were killed.
Addressing a press conference today at Sopore Muneer Khan said that 12 militants including a foreign militant were arrested and huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered. Two militants namely Qayoom Bajad & Munshi Khan were arrested who during interrogation confessed that they were managing the safe passage to the militants from Sopore to Rajouri.
He said that police has also unearthed a module which include some Government employees and Hurriyat cadres that in close liaison with militants are fomenting stone pelting in Sopore.
Giving details,
On the basis of confession of pelters who were planning Fidayeen attack on Security Forces/Police establishment, a haul of arms and ammunition were recovered from the residential house of one Mohammad Amin Dar resident of Badami Bagh, Sopore. The recoveries include one Pistol, one Pistol magazine, two Satellite Phones (Thurya), one grenade, one Tata Mobile Set, one AK 47 rifle, 10 AK 47 magazines, 32 AK rounds, one AK Butt, one Bayonet, two Combat uniforms, one Pistol cover, one Composer, three pouches, 11 UBGL shells and one UBGL.
One of the stone pelter namely Abdul Lateef Lone resident of Radbough, Kupwara working as an Imam of Jamia Masjid Amargarh, Sopore was arrested who during questioning has revealed that Rs. 400/= is being paid to every stone pelter on Friday. He is currently detained under PSA.
Money which is being paid is raised locally by Hurriyat “G” cadres. Maximum chunk of this money came from Fruit Mandi and Saw Mills. Hurriyat cadres collecting money are Ghulam Mohammad Tantray resident of Behrampora currently detained under PSA. Ghulam Hassan Mir @ Chotta Geelani resident of Duroo currently absconding, Mohammad Rustum resident of Amargarh, Sopore detained under PSA, Gani Guroo resident of Chankhan (Absconding), Ashraf Malik resident of Batpor (Government Employee Education Department) currently in custody and Bashir Ahmad Tali resident of Chankhan, Sopore (Employee of Food & Supplies department, currently absconding).
Meanwhile the DIG North Kashmir also added that, Sopore Police has busted a gang of Trans- State highway Robbers and arrested two key members of the gang namely Munish Sharma @ Mini son of Krishan Sharma resident of Baltana, Mohali Punjab and Parveen Malik son of Rajinder Malik resident of Pepli Khairwa, Sonipat, Haryana.
In the latest of their kind they have robbed one person namely Jai Kishan @ Billu resident of Chandigarh P/S Chandigarh who is owner of one iron company “Halengkult Pvt. The duos had entered into the valley and were hiding in the house of Bashir Ahmad Zargar son of Mohammad Ahsan Zargar resident of Behrampora Rafiabad. An amount of Rs. 1,80,000/- was recovered from the duo in cash and rest money have been spent by them on account of hotel charges, traveling fare, shopping etc and Rs. 2,00000/- have been taken by their accomplice Vijay who has been arrested by Punjab Police.
