According to Police that Sopore police along with 52RR,179Bn CRPF and 177Bn CRPF acting on a tip off, cordoned Amargarh Sopore in Baramulla district.
Police said that militants who were holed up in the house of Akbar Lone resorted to heavy firing on the search party.
In the ensuing encounter which lasted till this morning, ended with the elimination of one Lashker-e-Toiba commander Abu Hamza.
One Army Jawan of 52 RR also laid his life besides two Jawans of 52 RR and one police personal were injured in the encounter. One AK 47 rifle and four AK magazines, 31 AK rounds,03 Pocket dairy,09 matrix sheets and one identity card were recovered from the encounter site.
In another encounter Two militants including Jaish commander Waseem Bilal were killed at Ayatmulla Bandipora. A joint operation launched by Bandipora Police along with 57 RR and 196 Bn CRPF cordoned off village Ayatmullah , Bandipora. Militants peasant in the house of Abdul Aziz Lone S/O Abdul Samad Lone R/O Lone Mohallah started heavy firing on the search party, triggering an encounter. Two militants identified as Waseem Bilal a Jaish commander and Shakeel @ Ganja were killed in the encounter. An Army Jawan Mohammad Amin Bhat of 57 RR also died in the encounter. Two AK rifles have been recovered from the encounter site. Mopping up operation still going on.
Meanwhile Two Army personnel of JAK Rifle namely L-Naik Rajesh Kumar No. 13762662X and Rifleman Rakesh Kumar No. 13766290P died at Old Tiger Post Machil due to suffocation by Carbon Mono-oxide gas while performing their duty
