Srinagar, September 09(Scoop News)-The incident in Gagran, Shopian on September 7th in which four persons got killed and one got injured is being investigated by Jammu and Kashmir Police. Three killed persons have been identified as Tawseef Ahmad Bhat resident of Baba Mohalla Shopian, Mohammad Yousf Sofi resident of Durpora,Zainapora, Shopian and Tariq Ahmad Mir resident of Okay, Kulgam do not have any previous record of militancy in Police record against their persons, Police said today in a statement issued to Press.

However, the evidence collected from the spot and subsequent verifications suggest that he is Abdullah Haroon of LeT. One pistol, two grenades and a diary were recovered from the spot, Police said. Besides, the mobile phone recovered from his pocket contains a video clip showing weapons snatched from police and CRPF personnel in the incidents of Arwani and Awnera Shopian. Further the mobile phone has Dialer/SKIPE software which is available with Lashkar commanders.
Meanwhile the Communist Party of India (M) has demanded a judicial probe while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemned the CRPF firing and demanded action against the guilty personnel.
Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has also demanded an impartial inquiry into the killing of four persons by CRPF in Shopian on Saturday.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in said,“We won’t accept any investigation by the administration as it can’t deliver any justice. We demand an impartial probe into the killings,” he said.
South Kashmir civil Society(SKCS) in a statement strongly deplored the killing of youth by the CRPF’s 14th Battalion in Gagrin area of Shopian on Saturday and termed the incident a horrendous act of barbarism.
“Unfortunately, Indian security forces deployed in all the fours of the Jammu and Kashmir instead of securing the lives of common people made their lives miserable and insecure,” Spokesperson SKCS, said, adding that the extrajudicial powers conferred to Indian Armed Forces in the state through Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) made them trigger free and under this garb they indiscriminately kill Kashmiris whenever and wherever they want , for which Shopian episode is the classical example.
SKCS demanded that an independent, time-bound judicial probe should be carried through high court of Kashmir and the CRPF personnel involved in this savagery be given an exemplary punishment.
SKCS reiterated that the Society will raise its voice against Human Rights Abuses in Kashmir in whatsoever form they are and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyred youth.
