A Spirit Left Cold And Empty

There’s an ember flickering in the distance
a heart seethes inside with anger and hurt.
Its glow is faint…no magical spark in its identity
flames burnt-out leaves blackened ashes
emitting a pong of eternal loss and depleted life…
cinders signify the end of a fervent love.

A soul endures unaided and desires compassion
intense aching gnaws…thirsty to devour existence.
Moments use to be heavenly and pure…
now obscured and lacking any significance
burdened by a fear to escape the desolate spirit
to evaporate free from its constant clench of my soul.

There’s an ember flickering in the distance
a heart seethes inside with anger and hurt.
The flare vanished without a warning
a setting sun existing deprived of another moment
and swallowed in an instant into another world…
a spirit remains within the core cold and empty.
