Jammu and Kashmir: All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association (AJHGWA) held a meeting which was attended by the Home – Guards from all the districts of Jammu Province where in different organization and political parties’ heads were present. The prominent who attended the meeting were Ashok Khajuria (MLA), Ch. Sukhnandan Kumar (MLA), Inder Mohinder Tar Singh (State President Janta Dal United), Uday Chand (President Duggar Pradesh), Pavitar Singh (Chairman JPPF), Hari Chand Jalmeria (General Secy. Panthers Party), Satpal Saini (General Secy. EPTWS), Dr. Gafoor (President All J&K Gujjar & Bakarwal Conference), Harish Singh (President Kranti Dall), Ramesh Kumar (BSP) Partap Singh (President NPSU), Kewal Sharma, Raj Kumar both social workers and many others.
On this occasion while addressing a massive gathering all the speakers extended full support to Home Guards, all of them were of opinion that the government has already tortured them a lot and now they should get justice so that their sufferings are eliminated once for all. Kamla Sharma President All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association said that they are getting step motherly treatments from the state government.
In neighboring states of Punjab, Haryana the Home Guards one getting Rs. 9000/- per month as salary and we are getting only Rs. 545/- per month which speaks of high headedness of our government and atrocities of the same cannot be tolerated anymore. Common man can imagine that how we are meeting two ends. We are doing our job with full dedication and honesty. So far so we perform more duty than a common cop. It is unfortunate and a matter of concern that the stone pelleters and militants are honoured whereas peace loving and trained home guards and ill treated by the state government.
Further, Kamla said that we look forward towards all the concerned ones to extend their support and we are thankful to those who have attended the meeting and extended their support in our favour. All the organizations heads resolved to supports home – guards and soon programme shall be formulated to further strengthen our struggle so that we achieve our goal and our just cause is resolved said Kamla Sharma. Besides Kamla Sharma others prominent members of the association attended the meeting are: Amjad Malik (All India Home Guard Advisory board member), Rakesh Kumar (General Secy.) Imtiyaz Shan (Chief Organizer), Darshana Devi, Satvinder Kour, Santosh Kumari Shalu Devi and many others.
