AFAQ play vital role in improving Quality Education

Quality Education stressed in Convention on How to Improve Quality Education.

CHITRAL:  Association for Academic Quality (AFAQ) held a one day Principals Convention on the title of “How to improve Quality of Education in schools” in a local hotel. The program was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Salahuddin Saleh performed as state Secretary. Zulfiqar Ali Khan Coordinator of AFAQ welcomes to distinguished guests. He said AFAQ established in 1997 and working in different parts of the country. As some 400 schools working under the Hira foundation at Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Amir Zeb Regional Program Manager briefed the participants about the aim and objectives of his organization through projector slides in his presentation. The main focus of the convention was to how improve quality education in the district. He said that AFAQ working in 124 districts and 8 tribal agencies of the province. He stressed upon the teachers, principals and educationists to impart quality education for development of the country.  Quoting an example he said that at Tank district one militants delivered speech only for 45 minutes and 18 students were prepared for suicide bomber which is show lack of interest in education and teacher focusing on students counseling building.

He said that AFAQ working on improving and to achieve bitterness in 9 characteristics. These are clear vision, high standard expectations, effective school leadership, supportive learning & Environment, parent/community involvements, collaboration/communication, frequent monitoring of teaching/learning, curriculum instruction assessment and focused professional development.
He said that it is better to plan for a year and execute in a day than to plan in a day and execute in a year.  The said the components of quality education are vision, skills, incentive, resources, action plan and proper evaluation and monitoring. He emphasized on teachers to work on counsel building and prepare a better nation as they are architects of the nation.  He said that AFAQ working on different aspect to improve quality of education like curriculum, coordination activity, teachers training, education support material and school system development. He said we have 51 Master trainers 21 female and 30 male for further training of teachers of different schools.

Expressing his great concern over the substandard quality of education he said that only 23 candidates qualified written test for 40 writers for AFAQ among the 800 candidates. He said we focusing on character building. Executive District Office School and Literacy Gul Nawaz Khan was chief guest on the occasion.  Addressing the convention EDO Education said that we should to initiate step for improving quality of education as a mission not as a profession. Inayatullah Faizi who was presiding over the ceremony said that vision is must for choosing a profession. He said that Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayum Khan who was chief pattern and founder of Islamia College Peshawar never enrolled no students or recruit teachers until he physically analyze them at least for one week in the college. 

He said that in the early 13th century while European people were establishing universities while Muslims rulers in Sub-continents constructing Shrines, Grave Yards and Forts. And that is why the British are ruler and we remain slaves of them due to lack of education. A large number of Principals, Teachers, educationists from public and private sector participated the convention.
