Srinagar, January 07 (Scoop News) – According PRO, Kashmir University, all the University examinations upto and including Tuesday, 10-01-2012, have been postponed.
Fresh dates for the conduct of the said examinations shall be notified separately, the PRO said.
Baramulla DDC review meeting postponed
The District Development Board Review meeting of District Baramulla which was scheduled to be held on January 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at SKICC Srinagar under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah has been postponed.
The new date of the meeting will be informed later.
Omar visits various hospitals in Sgr, takes stock of power, other facilities:-
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is here to personally monitor the restoration of essential services in the valley disrupted due to heavy snowfall, this evening made a surprise visit to SKIMS, Soura, SMHS and Lal Ded hospitals and ascertained the status of power supply, heating arrangements and medical facilities to the patients.
He preferred not to inform any security or police apparatus while visiting these hospitals so that the patients and their attendants are not put in any inconvenience as a result of security arrangements.
The Chief Minister asked the hospital administration to take all efforts to ensure functioning of the hospitals and facilitate the treatment.
Mir took stock of restoration of essential services in Valley post snow fall: –
The Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir today visited Lal Ded and G B Pant hospitals to review the day to day functioning of these hospitals. The concerned authorities informed the minister that the power supply to these hospitals has been restored. During his visit to G B Pant hospital the Minister directed for immediate dewatering of the water from the hospital premises.
Earlier Minister convened a high level meeting to review the restoration and availability of essential services in the valley in view of recent snowfall.

The Minister was informed that all the highways in the valley have been cleared of snow and traffic movement restored. He was told that water supply has also been restored in all areas of the Valley.
The meeting was also informed that all the hospitals and offices are functioning normally in the valley.
