Apple’s iPhone went on sale in the UK and Germany on Friday with thousands expecting to get their hands on the device. The first European handsets were sold at the T-Mobile store in Cologne just after midnight. By contrast Apple fans queuing in poor weather in London will have to wait until Friday evening to snap up an iPhone. The major concern among users in the UK is that the phone will only work on O2’s network, while in Germany T-Mobile will support the device. Apple has sold 1.4 million iPhones since it went on sale in the US.
