Jammu, December 06, (Scoop News)- Article 370 has made the state poor and deprived the people of Jammu & Kashmir of the opportunities of employment and industrialization, and instead of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) it has led to Terrorism Direct Investment (TDI). This was stated here today by BJP Member of Parliament Tarun Vijay, while addressing a press conference at party headquarters alongwith BJP National Executive Member & State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh.
Also present at the press conference were State General Secretaries Kavinder Gupta and Bali Bhagat and State Treasurer Chander Mohan Gupta.
Tarun Vijay welcomed Omar Abdullah’s statement that he is ready to join the debate on Article-370. He said, by this statement Omar Abdullah has indirectly confessed that Shyama Prasad Mookherjee’s stand on Article-370 was correct and it required a debate for which Omar Abdullah is also ready.
Tarun Vijay said that because of Article 370 there has been no investment from other states as a result of which the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are compelled to leave the state in search of employment and livelihood in other parts of the country and abroad. This has contributed to large scale frustration among general sections of society and the day is not far when the state will become a land of elder citizens only.
Tarun Vijay also pointed out that Article 370 was responsible for discouraging corporate hospital chains like Fortis, Max etc. from opening their hospitals in the state including Kashmir valley. Due to this, large number of patients from the state were forced to go to Delhi or Chandigarh for treatment.
Tarun Vijay said that separatism and anti-national tendencies have been encouraged by the present regime led by Omar Abduallah who must answer what contribution he had made to strengthen the integrity of state and its relations with the rest of India. He also referred to Kashmiri Pandit displaced community which was direct victim of terrorism and extended full support of BJP to them.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, while addressing media persons, said that one does not need to travel all the way to Ahmedabad to debate Article-370 as suggested by Omar Abdullah. He said the debate on Article-370 is already in public domain and if the Chief Minister is sincere to join the debate, he should right here answer the questions raised on the issue by BJP and several social organizations. BJP will not allow him the privilege of sharing a platform with Narendra Modi simply for publicity, he added.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that it goes to the credit of Narendra Modi that he has succeeded in initiating the long awaited country-wide debate on Article-370 which has stirred panic among the National Conference leadership and sent the Congress leadership into total silence.
