Though Ayurvedic science is somewhat restricted to India and also known as Indian Medical science, its classification of human personalities on the basis of the type of food they intake is universally recognised and acclaimed and the science of nutrition also has recognised it.
There are three types or varieties of foods which are known as 1)Sattvic 2)Rajasvic and 3)Tamasic.Each category of food has got its own characteristics.
1)Sattvic food is freshly cooked food made of vegetables, grains, pulses etc and those who eat this kind of food will be younger, mild and gentle and energetic personalities.Though fresh uncooked food like some vegetables also included in this category. But uncooked food is not recommended for consumption by Ayurvedic science.
2)Rajasic food is freshly cooked non-vegetarian foods like fish, mutton etc and the people who eat this kind of food is more energetic and more sensitive.
3)Tamasic type of food includes all kinds of fried foods, oily foods, tinned and canned foods and they include icecreams and other kind of fast foods.The people who are more interested in eating these foods are less energetic, lesser in memory, sleepy and definitely they have lesser number of years at their disposal.
Therefore, taking the value of those foods into account, people should choose a way of life and the type of food they should intake.
