Jammu, August 09 (Scoop News)-Making a fervent appeal to the people to make “Jammu bandh” successful against the incidents of communal violence and failure of the government to ensure safety of minorities in Kishtwar, BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma said that once again the NC-Congress coalition has given free hand to the members of majority community to harass, terrorise, kill and damage properties of minorities there.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, who alongwith leader of Legislator Party Ashok Khajuria, National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh, National Executive Member & State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh, State Vice-President Ramesh Arora (Adv.), State General Secretaries Kavinder Gupta and Bali Bhagat and other senior leaders, led a protest march and sat on dharna at Kachi Chawni Chowk to register protest against the growing incidents of communal violence in Kishtwar, said that the party has received support of Chamber of Commerce, Bar Association, Beopar Mandal, Transport, social and religious organizations for Jammu bandh on Saturday.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that it is not for the first time that minorities in erstwhile Doda district have been targeted. In the past, such incidents happened and every time the government did not take effective measure to identity and book culprits as a result of which they have now made it a routine to repeat such attacks after intervals of time.
Ashok Khajuria, while condemning the incident, said that enough is enough and the people should now get united to send a clear signal to the state government that it should not take the minorities in the state for granted and it should take all effective measures to ensure that such incidents are not repeated. The soft approach of the state government towards majority community is sending very wrong message and if the policy continues, there is every possibility of more disturbances. He also appealed the people to make Jammu bandh successful.
