Basic Para Gliding course concludes at Sanasar

Jammu, December 01 (Scoop News) – A week long Basic Para Gliding Course organized by Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports in collaboration with J&K Tourism Department concluded at Sanasar yesterday.

The budding paragliders drawn from various schools of the State participated in the camp.

Assistant Director Tourism  Tariq Naik said that this camp was sponsored by department of tourism to promote the tourism and sports activities in this part of the state adding that Sanasar is famous for its scenic beauty besides surrounding with green forest. He said that the Department is taking initiatives to strengthen the required infrastructure to promote this place for adventure sports. It is hoped that with the help of overwhelming response from the youth, the adventure sports in Jammu and Kashmir would regain its past glory.

He said that Sanasar has been viewed an ideal spot for adventure pursuits like skiing, trekking and camping, rock climbing, rappelling, paragliding and other related sports.

He said that the location is ideal for paragliding, because of favourable breeze, which is said to be perfect in speed and direction giving ample thrills to the gliding enthusiast.
