Bangladesh Computer Samity BCS is going to organize a five day long ICT event with the title BCS ICT World 2008 from November 17th at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center.
On this ocassaion BCS has organized a Meet the Press at their Dhaka secretariat. In the very beginning Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, President, BCS has presented a very short speech on BCS’s role to upgrade the IT sector of Bangladesh in the past years. This year the ICT World 2008 is going to be organized with the slogun “Towards Digital Bangladesh”. Mr. AT Shafique Uddin Ahmed has presented an overview of the fair to the media persons attended the meet the press session.
This year the fair is facilitated by ICT Business Promotion Council (IBPC), under the Ministry of Business of the Government of Bangladesh. ACER, BenQ and Microsoft are sponsoring the event this year as Gold Sponsor and AOC and Hitachi are as Silver Sponsor.
Index IT is sponsoring the Entry Ticket for the fair. Nestle Bangladesh is also showed their interest to provide free coffee service to the event vanue. BCS is also expecting some more significant sponsors in many sectors in near future. This year entry fee will be BDT 20, but for school students it will be free. The fair will start from 10 in the morning and will continue up to 8 at night everyday.
