BGSB University becoming a ground for anti-national activities:Gupta

Jammu, February 16 (Scoop News) – BJP State Vice-President Vibodh Gupta, on Saturday, expressed his anguish over the recent incident of anti-national act in the Campus of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSB), Rajouri in Jammu region.

Vibodh Gupta while addressing a press conference in Jammu today said that His Holiness Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah was a messenger of peace and an inspirational force for all human beings, irrespective of their region and religion but it is very unfortunate that the University which was named after his name is becoming a breeding ground for anti-national activities,. He alleged that there have been several instances of criminal activities in the campus of Baba Ghulam Shah Badsha University for last   3-4 years and these activities are planned by some of its Kashmir based students those might have links with the separatist leaders and are trying to criminalize and communalize the most prestigious educational institution of the region.

Gupta said  that anti-national activities  in BGSB University are not being carried  out by the local students  of Rajouri and Poonch but are being planned and executed by some  of its  students from Kashmir Valley and alleged that  their activities  are against the interest of the university  and  aimed at defaming  the BGSB University and to create a sense of separatism  in the region.

Vibodh Gupta said the people of Rajouri and Poonch districts are the most nationalist people in the state and as they did not  allow the separatist leaders to have their foothold in the region even during the period  when  insurgency was on its peak and  now the conspiracies are being hatched by pro-Pakistan elements  to create the communal tension and the sense of separatism  in the region.

Accusing the University administration of being soft and having sympathies with the anti-national elements,  Gupta demanded immediate transfer of  Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar of BGSB University. He appealed the Chancellor of University, Governor N.N. Vohra, to appoint a local from Rajouri-Poonch as the Vice-Chancellor of the University. He said  if action is not taken  against the culprits involved in  the recent incidents, he will write to His Excellency, the President of India and the union HRD Ministry against the University authorities.

BJP Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency Incharge Yudhvir Sethi and State Secretary Munish Sharma were also present in the press conference.
