Led by Jammu BJP’s Distt. President Rajesh Gupta, hundreds of party activists took out a protest march in
Rajesh Gupta, while addressing the party activists, said that the decision by Congress-led UPA government to allow Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) upto 51 per cent in Indian retail market has drawn strong protests across the country, including those from opposition, business houses representing micro/macro level traders and even the members within the Congress party itself. Those in favour of FDI, including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh argue that FDI in retail will create employment opportunities and will be beneficial, is misleading. The manner in which this decision is being imposed speaks volumes about the malafide intentions of the government. He said that the party has always been with the traders, including retailers, wholesalers and small scale industrialists and assures that we will stand by them in every moment.

The party activists were carrying placards and raising slogans against the decision of the UPA over FDI.
Munish Sharma, in his address, said that the people have come on the streets lin lakhs in different parts of the country to observe bandh and protesting for the rights of the retailers. The UPA government has turned a blind eye over this burning issue. The UPA has been taking one decision after the other which have been inviting the resentment among the masses. It is BJP only which has been agitating for the cause of the people. The yuva morcha too has been following this path and working towards making the masses aware of the anti-people and anti-youth policies of the Congress-l;ed UPA government.
