Lawyers observed Black day demanding for restoring Judiciary of 3rd November.
CHITRAL: District Bar Association of Chitral under the chair of Khurshid Hussain Mughul Advocate president Chitral Bar Association observed black day and protested. They came in a proceeding from Bar room and set in protest in front of the court of District & Session Judge Chitral. Leaders of DBA delivered speeches on the occasion. Besides other Ameer Jamat Islami and JI activist also joined the protest pubic meeting. They demanded for restoring of judiciary of 3rd November 2007 other wise they warned to continue their protest until fulfillment of their demand. The protest rally was disbursed peacefully.
Two days Advocacy workshop on National Maternal New Born and Child Health Program NWFP launched.
A two days long advocacy workshop for health related professionals on National Maternal New Born and Child Health (MNCH) program launched here the program was organized by provincial MNCH program supported by UNICEF. Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Saleem Khan was chief guest on the occasion. Addressing to the workshop District Coordination officer Chitral Mutasim Billah Shah said that we all should to play responsible role to overcome the present scenario of crises. He said that reasons behind development of the other nations is only they prioritized their education system. He said that there is great gape in our education and machinery of life even in our worship places and public. Saleem Khan Provincial Minister for Population said that we should to block the way of every extremism and terrorism. He said we facing numerous problems. Majority of pregnant women are dying during their delivery.
He said that Chitral is a scattered place and it is not possible to rush a pregnant woman to hospital timely. He also hailded servies of Aga Khan Health Services who rendering their services where there is no health center on government side. He said that some 3 million mothers 10 million children and 150000 mothers are dying in a year due to lack of health facilities during their delivery or after delivery. As well as 65% is mortality ratio in the country and we should to reduce it by our sincerely efforts. He said that NWFP government are trying of its best to continue negotiation with extremists groups to eradicate terrorism from the country. He said we have so man challenges and have to overcome on these due to our joint efforts. He urged on health department for fulfilling vacant posts of doctors at Chitral. He also demanded for serving for at least 3 years of newly recruited doctors in health department. He announced that a Nursing school will be start at Chitral next year.
District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah said that we can minimize our problems in the existing capacity and resources by sincerely and honest efforts. He proposed that government and NGO should to involve district government for service of Doctors and we can hire 2 doctors in the same pay instead of one doctor. He also hailed services of Peoples Primary Health Initiative (PPHI) as most of BHU survived by their efforts. EDO Health Chitral Dr. Sher Qayum thanked all participants and guests.
