Police says two persons have been killed while 15 others have been injured in a bomb blast in Rautahat district. The bomb, according to reports, exploded at a public bus park at Chandranigahapur in the district yesterday. Five persons are understood to have been seriously injured.
The claim of reponsibility for the blast has come from the Terai Army whose vision and policies are completely unkown to people in the same locality. However, intellectuals of the Terai region say that this rganization’s main office is in Bihar, a province in India and its main purpose is to contribute to the separation of the Terai region from the mainstream Nepal through purely terroristic type of blasts in public places.
Roshan Lal Chaudhary of Rautahat, a construction worker in Kathmandu, says that there are only a few armed people in the Terai Army and they can be immediately arrested and punished if the government has a will power. He says, "I don’t understand why Nepal government is so helpless despite the continuation of criminal and anti-democratic activities."
Besides,Madhesi Mukti Tigers, Terai Cobra and dozens of other armed groups, whose work range from personally conducting robberies to blasting in public places, have been heavily importing arms from India, says Naresh Kumar Thakur from Janakpur. "The goverment could control it if it wanted," he adds. "How can the peace process be successful if criminal and terrorist groups are allowed to act openly like this,? questions Thakur."Blast in a public crowd is not any political movement. It is an example of absolute terrorism," he believes.
