KUALA LUMPUR;-
BLOG, BLOGGERS, READERS; these are the new buzz words in Malaysian politics.
Just before the 12th General Election, two senior Ministers rudely told resporters that they did not read blogs. The reason being, they are filled with rubbish-or ,so both of them said.
One of the Minister concerned was reappointed. Another declined. Just to be responsible for the defeat of my party, said he with his nose pointing to the sky.
It was no secret that the Oppositions really marshalled the readers or viewers of blogs before and during the elections.
The reason being that they did not trust the mainstream media, who only wrote for their Towkay, or ,so they alleged.
They hit the jackpot!
The Opposition were actually cornered just before the announcement.
Knowing well that new voters are net-savvy, they hit the only option available. They wrote, read and commented each others Blog. Facebook, My Space, Blogit and You-tube were now theirs for the taking.
Meanwhile, the National Front were still with their rallies, projects and development corridors. There were problems and they were denied.
Inflation was eating into the people’s wallets and soul. They refused to go back on polling day. In their place, came these new voters who rely more more truth rather than plans. They came in droves over the net, into polling stations and before midnight 9th March 2008, they rejoiced.
Round 1, to Blogs, Bloggers and surfers!
