Srinagar, September 28(Scoop News)-Centre for NSS and Cultural sports activities, Central University Kashmir in collaboration with Hussaine Khidmatgaar Committee and Blood Bank (HKC&BB) organized a blood donation camp in the university campus, Sonwar Bagh here today.
Vice-chancellor, Central University Kashmir, Prof Abdul Wahid Qureshi inaugurated the camp while as Registrar, Central University, Kashmir Prof, Mohammad Afzal Zargar, representative of HKC&BB, Aga Syed Abdul Hussain Al Moosvi and Cultural Coordinator Central University, Dr. Fayaz Ahmed Nikka were present on the occasion.
Besides large number of students, faculty members particularly Jenab Aga Syed Sahib donated the blood on the occasion.
Addressing the function, Vice Chancellor Prof Abdul Wahid Qureshi said that in the history of Central University Kashmir, this is first ever auspicious occasion when both students of various streams and faculty donated their precious blood for noble cause and to save human life. He said the gesture of special kind bears great significance and its reward is nothing but blessings of Almighty, adding that the act is religiously also a great deed to which everybody should take benefit of.
Speaking about the differences between man and animal, Prof Wahid said that animal cares for itself alone and man cares for others too as the man has been awarded with status of ‘Ashraf-ul-Makhlookat’(very special among the creations).
Lauding the participation of students and faculty members in the just cause, Vice Chancellor said that the University will keep on record the courage and enthusiasm of participants and will pray for their success and welfare.
Categorizing the education, Prof Wahid said that some acquire knowledge and education for earning their livelihood and to live for their family alone but some think much beyond their family and self and serve humanity with great-spirit selflessly.
Registrar, Central University, Kashmir, Prof Mohammad Afzal Zargar on this occasion said that blood donation is a noble deed and all of us must participate in the mission to save precious lives. He said that an ordinary healthy person can donate blood after every 2 months and one point of blood can save three lives at a time.
Aga Syed Sahib in his speech said that a person who saved the life of one person is deemed to have saved the whole humanity. He appealed every individual to serve ailing humanity and provide all possible help to poor, destitutes and needy.
Dr. Fayaz Ahmed Nikka while addressing the function said that it is need of hour to ignite and arouse sense of compassion among younger generation to live a meaningful life. He appreciated the donors for their overwhelming response to donate blood. He said every donor will be awarded with a certificate of donation for future use in distress.
Dr. Shahnaz Bashir proposed vote of thanks on the occasion.
