The Government of the Republic of South Sudan last week under Ministerial order from Minister of Petroleum and Mining Hon. Stephen Dhieu Dau has formed a Taskforce to monitor and safeguard the oil facilities in the battle field. The Minister in a statement has said that the Taskforce was formed to ensure that all wells and Oil flow lines are clean from any oil movement and that the Team will also check the effect on environment due to the current events at the North-South Sudan border. According to the Ministerial order, the Government wanted to keep the oil facilities free from damage.
“Given the current circumstance in the oil fields in unity state and in order to ensure safety of the facilities and environment in the oil operations areas, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining Stephen has formed control Room and Fields Operations Taskforce that shall be composed of the Taskforce Control Room, which will based at the Ministry of Petroleum headquarters and Fields’ operations team which will based in the oil fields” the Minister inserts.
The Taskforce Control Room consists of seven members, Stephen Dhieu the Minister of Petroleum and Mining and the Chairperson of the Control Room, Elizabeth James Bol, the Deputy Chairperson and the undersecretary in the Ministry of Petroleum. Mohamed Lino Direct general of Petroleum and head of follow up team, Albino Mawec, head of security at the Ministry of Petroleum, Mrs. Census Kebaus a member of the team
And the Field Operation consist of seven members Paul Adong head of Fields Operations Team, Suleiman Abdulla a member, Paul Kat a member, Kual Deng, a member, David Gala, member, HSE, representative, and Security representatives.
